Clint, Those welds look pretty darn good! One suggestion, when you make the last pass, use a "U" pattern. Staring on left side, go down, across and then up; then down, across and up.. Make the pattern wider than your seam by 3/32" on both sides.
Practice on a flat piece and watch how nice of a weld you can make, Will be make the joint a lot stonger and less chance of a pin hole leak.

Not that I know anything about welding.

Posted some ideas in your thread Tony. I'll check back later once you're awake. But yeah folks, my whole family watches this thread! My Dad has been helping me troubleshoot and basically taught me to weld over the phone. I'm glad he was able to join the site.
Sigh.........
So anyway, I'm heading back out to the garage as soon as I make a pot of coffee. Gonna clean it up first and then finish things up.

Clint are you going to have a flex pipe on the exhaust to absorb vibration?
I highly suggest you do.

Thanks Tony and Richard. It's not too hard once you play with the MIG stinger a few times. I'm using a really shitty welder and the welds are still coming out halfway decent. Good advice on the U-pattern Dad.

Yeah, I thought about it and I may just order one. I was going to run without it, but I probably shouldn't. Although I can probably just re-use my existing 2-1/2" one and just put it after the cat if I don't feel like shelling out another $40 on a flex. I'll sleep on it tonight and think about it.

looks good mang. where is the wideband going? i suggest as far down the pipe as you can. like somewhere next to the downstream O2 sensor.i fried one being k=like right at the end of the short dp. in the dezod DP there were two bungs in the short pipe. i ran the wideband in the second of the two. and i had a bung in the long pipe under the car. thats where the second 02 went. well like two months into it i noticed my sensor faulting out. so i replaced it and moved the bung for the wideband to where the second o2 was. hasnt had a hiccup yet. but just a suggestion.

Clint, how do you know your head is warped? Plus....in the 5 years I'm been in the car business, I have never seen a car with a warped cylinder head not overheat.
My car has not pushed coolant in two weeks!!!! Strange huh I think it pushed coolant because it was so damm hot here. 14 psi cap is just not enough with the turbo heat. I need a high psi rated cap, hopefully it was raise my boiling point so my coolant will not run into the overflow. I'm gonna try a new cap & wait for summer...see what happens
oh. p.s! my car got backed into by a damn sorostitute....
