Full Review on Hayame Coilovers
Rear...
It took a while for the rear to settle. It was actually a bit higher.
Time to raise the front a bit. The front is now lower than my GCs and it makes the profile of the tire look weird. I've come to the realization that the lower profile your tires are, the better your car will look even lower.

Vnilman - the rubber boot on the fronts are all twisted. To fix this do I need to completely remove the Hayames and straighten them out? Damn I hate not having decent shops around here to do anything, it really pisses me off. I can't get anything installed right! Sorry, just venting. Going to go to another shop and try this install again.

i'm sure you dont have to take it off... you can probably just lower the perch so that you can move the spring around freely. than just position it so that its straight. this might throw off your current preload settings but just measure it from the 3rd locknut and you should be fine. But ya its just a dustboot so you dont really have too unless if its really badd and about to rip or something

At any rate, I said before that these springs take a long time to settle and now, I have a small finger gap in the rear. The car just seemed to get lower and lower all around, which ended up being a bad thing. Now I'm too low.

I don't recommend going this low because:
1. It will destroy your front fender molding(s) - exposing your headlight wiring harness and wiper fluid.
2. It might even hit the top fenders
3. The struts will be at their limit - although the ride doesn't get worse, the struts will begin to bottom out - this is all around, too.
I'm going to raise the FRONT (sorry, edit) a bit and give the rear more preload since it's quite soft. The rear could also use some negative camber since I seem to have the rear tire hitting the wheel well. I didn't have that issue before my accident. I got a shitty alignment.

how dare you say that.. no such thing... haha j/p.. ya i'm only at 2.5" and blah i already scrape at work... its not even my front that scrapes, its my mid pipe. LOL. My midpipe looks bad... the entire mid-pipe used to always scrape when I had GCs and I think it still does. Other than that, the muffler has taken abuse, too.
"If you ain't scrapin, you ain't low enough."
"If you ain't scrapin, you ain't low enough."
hahahahaha "If you ain't scrapin, you ain't low enough." i thought that was my quote, lol i guess its universal... my hayames should b here n e day now, and its goin all the way down.... hows the ride w it dumped all the way? its gotta b better than stock shocks and cut race springs lol...
Alright, is there any place that has these coilovers for sale right now that aren't on backorder. Cause I need to know that I can definately get these before mid april so I can be ready for a show.
slammed, that's a perfect drop in the rear. i want mine to look like that (maybe a tad higher) but i have an ugly gap because of a good amount of preload. i assume you have the height set at the lowest point?

Which is why I mentioned the front needs to go a bit higher but not by much just for daily driving.

And I'll say it again for the 3rd time, it takes a LONG time for the height to actually settle.

^ lol!
Slammed: do you have any additional weight in your trunk? (tools, sub box, etc)
I bought these Hayame's because they look much easier to adjust than my B+Gs. I'm really turned off by the fact they dont go any lower in the back, though. With my B+Gs, the problem is my rears are practically as high as they can go, so i cant raise it for the winter. it would be nice if the preload could be set from the top-down, rather than from bottom-top.
either way, the result will be me selling my B+Gs or my Hayame's, if my B+Gs suit my needs better.
I'm also curious to see just how high these Hayames can make my car.. heh heh.

I virtually have nothing in my car... nothing more than CDs and a garage door opener.
I have some bad news to report.
I looked at my suspension after I had this certain shop lower and align my car and after taking the wheels off I discovered that the reason why my car got to be that low (in the pictures) was because they had less than no preload on the springs (yes, the shock was turned all the way down to it's lowest point for the ride height). You know how Ground Controls and Skunk2s sit on the perch loosely when you raise the car, right? In the rear it looked just like that, which explains why the car was so low (and rode/handled so shitty.) All in all, they were lose so the height could go lower.
I know VNlilman said that to lower the car further, we have to sacrifice some preload, right? They pretty much sacrificed all, and I don't like that. I just went back to putting preload on the rear, and now - of course, there's a ton of wheel gap but at least the car handles and rides a lot better.
The way they did the fronts was somewhat okay. They used all 3 locking nuts and set them at the bottom to lock the height and preload (there was preload on the fronts, just very soft). They seemed to have softened the preload on the front springs and I suppose that didn't matter much to me yet. The front would bottom out just a little, so even raising it slightly would've fixed that issue.
At any rate, it's been a while now that I've had these Hayame's and I really hate the fact that you have to give up all preload just to go lower in the rear - which in turn, sacrificed shock travel to the point where my friends in the backseat thought the rear of the car was scraping at high speeds. (It was nothing but the struts constantly bottoming out.) Hayame advertises their producting saying height adjustability from 0-4 inches which only seems to be the truth for the front, but why not the rear? If I add preload to the rear, I'm just over ONE inch lower than stock! That's just not right. I want to go lower and have the use of preload as an opition as the coilovers was inteded to have.
I can't say I'm a completely satisfied customer. I can only find satisfaction through escaping my previous issue for lack of good struts and stiff springs. Fortunately for Hayame, that is what matters most to me than appearance. IMO the adjustability in the rear is bullshit. I don't see why Hayame raised their retail price on these because they are definintely worth the $650 instead of the $1,000 retail.
Oh well... my suspension set-up was never intended to begin, or end with Hayame anyway.

eh, i dont know how you would bottom out in the front when you have some preload. The rear, mine is down to 2.25-2.5" WITH a lot of preload. Only way for them to solve this would be to get shorter springs but unfortunately hayame doesnt offer that.
