But I don't think that's going to satisfy me because I want to know exactly what happened first. I don't want my rears replaced without knowing what causes this height trip because what if just simply replacing them doesn't work? Then I have to uninstall and reinstall and send back and I don't want to keep paying for shipping unless there's going to be some reimbursment on UrbanImport's behalf.

ya, couple of guys over in Clubrsx have there car droped pretty low, with preload. If these coilover gives no gap with preload, they're good enough to me.

I think that's what everybody wants. No gap and some preload, but it seems like you can't get that. Either gap and preload or no gap and no preload (shitty ride).

**** that ****.
I decided to play with my Hayame's today as well as fix my camber issue but have to go back and fix it again. I learned that I can't really give the springs more than 3/4 of an inch of preload in the rear. Not that that's an issue or anything but I was aiming for an inch. Oh well.

its reallly not that hard to adjust people. Just follow VNlilMAN's DIY and you should be able to do it. And I really don't think hayames have any problems right now. Some people got the wrong springs, but I can tuck in w/ 3/4 preload no problem, but never wanted to go that low.
Really. All you do is loosen the 3rd lock not and twist it by the top two to spin the strut into the bottom collar. Left - lower, right - higher.
If you're having trouble going all the way down in the rear, then you're probably already all the way at the bottom. If you are trying to go back up after you've turned it all the way down too much and it won't go up normally, you'll have to take it off the car and loosen it, or maybe use all 3 lock nuts to turn the strut.
My car now has 3/4 inch of preload all around. The ride is NICE.
But the height in the rear is now even more comparable to stock and IT IS LOWERED ALL THE WAY INTO THE COLLAR. I was forced to do the same with the front by raising it.
Now the car looks pretty much stock.

eh i heard robear wasnt selling them anymore because he cant get them anymore since he sold them lower than the contracted price. but then eh you know how it is, you get conflicting stories depending on which side you listen to.

-teins only go like 2" all around.
-they cost $200-300 more
-you dont have that 3rd locknut so its not like you have any options of any preload.
you do the math.. honestly, i dont see what the big deal is. it seems as if a few have received wrong rear springs and things are being taken care of. It doesnt look like you can go 4" (in the rear) while having preload but atleast you have the option up till 2" or so. you can still go down up to 3-4" without it tho. but ya i understand why slammed is upset but ya things are being taken care of.

Robear shouldn't have issues with selling them for the RSX at least.
At any rate, I could be looking at two-three weeks before Urban's next order (I suppose) and I'm done seeing what the Hayame's can do. I somewhat like the fact that the car turns far better than it did before at a near-stock height but it just feels odd not being down on the ground. The car feels easier to handle closer to it's center of gravity... or maybe I'm just not used to having great handling at such a high height. My car seems a little tail happy but it probably can't be helped. It turns so much faster on on-ramps. Although I've been given more ease with handling I still have to be somewhat cautious or else it will oversteer.

for street setup.
GC springs are really soft, don't expect alot from them.
GCs are comfortable, but I don't think many people realize that GC DOES in fact offer stiffer spring rates for our cars.
I wouldn't consider Hayame's so much more of a street performance application than GCs/Koni are. You're not going to want a super stiff racing set-up that would only cause harm to your car by being in the street. Not comfy, not practical at all.
