eh for ME i liked it best that way. different people like different settings. As for popping, i'm tellin you its mainly the 3rd locknut thats not tight enough but yes taking off some preload seemed to have put less stress on the 3rd locknut which thus reduces the noise.
are you coming to the eagle rock meet on the 21st? you can ride and my car and see if you like it at my current setting.

just installed my hayame's and i have a couple of questions. is it everyone's case that the smaller brake line bracket does not reach the back mounting point of the hayame front strut. also, i read boilermaker1's JIC DIY and he mentioned the offset bushing on the rear lower mount which i don't think applies to the hayame's, correct? hopfully that's not the case because i don't want to redo the rears.

as quoted from vnlilman
only minor little thing was they didnt include a nut for the brake like(since its attached to the stock strut). All i did was use zip ties.
My badd, i meant nut. The nut was welded onto the stock strut and hayame didnt include one. that was the only minor set back. wasnt really a big deal and didnt feel like going to the store just for 2 nuts so ya i just used zip ties
they talk about it on the last page. At least that is what I think you are talking about.

Are these coilovers really worth it...How do they compare to the TEIN SS. I'm getting pissed at myself cuz i can't decide which coilovers to get. TEIN SS because they are a great quality but they only go down 1.3 inches. Hayames good cuz they go really low...Bad cuz I haven't heard to much about them... what do yall think i should do.

think of it this way... you know how koni inserts work, they are koni shocks but they use oem housing. well hayames use tokico shocks with hayame housings.
as for tein ss vs hayame... well its hard to compare the two. one has adjustable damper, one doesnt. that is one major difference when it comes to ride quality. you can change the soft/stiffness to a certain extent with the hayames but you cant change it as you would with teins. but then you also pay what a $500 pricetag for the adjustable damper so you decide if its worth it or not.

I have had the Tein SS for about a year, and I think they are crap... my ride sucks, its just horrible, I hate driving my car.... I think i'm gunna have to ditch the Tein's and go with these hayam's because my suspension is fuct. It was fine when I first installed them, but I guess they blew or something, cheaply made perhaps, but anyways, I want something that lasts, so hopefully these hayme's will take the abuse of the crappy roads around here....
What made me choose the Hayame over the SS was simply how the strut extends when choosing the height you want so shock travel isn't compromised. Not to mention how low it'll go. Tokico has a great reputation for their shocks. Koni Yellows alone are $50 cheaper than Hayame.
I don't see what the big deal about adjusting the damper is all about unless you truly are going to race your car. If not, are people gonna pay an extra $500 to adjust the shocks more than 2-3 times a year after finding the ride comfort they're used to? IMO, it sounds like people just want to have it just because everyone says it's a good feature to have for racing, which it is. If comfort is an issue, at least the option is open for adjusting the preload which doesn't seem to be good enough for everyone.
I vote Hayame > Tein SS.
My friend has the SS, and I'm definitely going to compare how his car rides to mine once mine are installed.

What rear camber kit did you guys buy to go with this set? I just purcahsed a set and now i want to get the rear camber kit to go with it. Anyone recommend a brand or a part # to adjust the rear camber?
SlammedBlueEM2 thanks for the review your sorta of changing my mind about the SS. But when you get the Hayames and ride your boys car let me know because i cant ****ing decide which ones to get. I just want to know who on this site has had the Hayames the longest and do you have any problems?

alright im about to order them right now, one last thing tho has anyone had n e bad experiences w these? ive read all the posts, and ive had old civics and integras the last one had h and r race springs that i cut 2 coils out of so it was real low and i still thought the ride was not "ahhhh its bumpy..." i would expect the ride to be similar to my buddys 98 hatch with h and r race springs and konis correct? if so then im all good... ?

Anyone know the details of putting in the Hayame coilovers for the RSX. I want stiffer spring rates. I just need to know what I would need to modify... Tie rod? What, shorter or longer? What about the rear again? ???

the rear you have to shave off a mm or two off of the lower bracket.
front, all you need is rsx tie rods(to get a proper alignment). also depending on the size of the 2 bolts on the lower bracket, you might have to work something out for that.. boiler and robb should know the specifics tho, he installed rsx jics on his car
