dude, you're not alone. i have a good amount of preload in the rear and the height is set all the way down and my rear wheels have a little more than 2 finger gap! it sucks because the only way to lower the rear more is to take some preload off, but that will give it a bouncy ride.

Unleaded, i understand your problem. sorry to say but your going to have to take off some preload if you want to go lower. What tire sizr are you running anyways cause i'm on stock 14s and have no gap even with the presets really high. I guess its possible if your running 205-40-17 or something.

I'm actually having the issues Unleaded & Dainfamous is. I have the front pretty low but there's still a gap - and the rear is straight up stock height.

I was thinking it was my camber (which still needs to be reset). Oh well, if you got it that low on 14s then that's awesome cuz there's no point in being SlammedBlueEM2 without the slammed part.

205-40-17 is smaller than stock. Hmm... maybe it's best to set the height with 0 preload first then set the preload? Cuz I found it quite surprising when I thought I had the suspension at it's highest, it was actually at it's lowest in the rear (which was before 1 1/2 inch lower than stock). I had spun it to it's lowest point and kept trying to go lower to the point where it just wouldn't adjust anymore. I had to take the struts out just to loosen the lower perchs on them.

And as for the dust boot - I have the same issue. It's stuck at the top where the strut sets, although it doesn't seem to do anything.

so in order to adjust the ride height with the 3rd locknut i have to unbolt it from the control arm?? that seems like a lot of work to adjust the height. and having preload means the spring cannot move right? where as having no preload means the two upper lock nuts are nut pushing on the spring? this is very confusing

yes that what preload is... BUT you can also change how much preload you have. Say the springs are snug and it doesnt move. Well you can still make it tighter so that its even more snug. Doing this stiffens up the ride.

SlammedBlueEM2, thats weird.. i'm not sure about my rear but I know my front I have no gap with another 1" to go. Is the shock starting to stick out from the housing or something?

I'll be ordering my coilovers from urban import on monday (I think I'll be the first one with a sedan to put them on, so I'll let you fellow sedan owners how they are if I am the first). I just want to make sure that the front coilovers have a fully adjustable camber because I e-mailed urban import and I got a reply back from mike saying that they aren't. Could someone clear this up for me before I order so I know if I will have to get a full camber kit or not? Thanks

Thats correct, I got a call this afternoon THE HAYAME COILOVERS CAME IN AND ORDERS ARE SHIPPING OUT TODAY ...... well almost all of the orders. We bearly filled all the RSX orders but Hayame didn't get as many 01 Civic as expected and were not able to fill 3 of the orders. Those people will get emails later this afternoon in regards to this. As of now 01 Civic and RSX coilovers are on backorder again.

In the front? The shock doesn't stick out on the bottom but it's about to. Can't get it to go lower.

My main issue is the rear, which I will be adjusting today - preload and everything. Will post pics.

I don't have an ETA yet but I have 20 on backorder so as soon as more come in I will be getting them. If you preorder over our site you will be guranteed a set next time around and your card will not be charged until your order is ready to ship.

I can't figure out what's wrong... did you (UrbanImport) send out the wrong rear shocks? Someone or Hayame has got some explaining to do.

This is what my rear looks like - keep in mind, it's now at stock height in the REAR.

Also notice the missing dust boot. There's VERY little preload set.

At stock height in the rear and the threads are already passed the hole in the lower perch. I only have about 1 inch left to lower.

I dunno if this would be relevant or not, but there's really not a lot of preload set.

I'm curious, did you at least drive around like 50-100 feet after lowering the car? the rear will not settle until you drive around for a bit. If that not the case, I guess the only way to drop it more is to reduce the preload.

I got my car aligned today as well as had some assistance with lowering it, and the front is a lil' lower than it was with my GCs. That's a thumbs up.

However, the rear is still somewhat high. It doesn't look horribly high but in comparison to the front it looks like it deserves to be lower.

Pretty much I've lowered the car as low as it can go all around on them.

Will post pics in the near future.

Mike.... well, apparently you got the whole shipment of the Hayames, so I was unable to get them from my friend this time around. Do you have an ETA of when you will get more in? I'm deciding if I should just cancel with him and place an order with you. Which it sounds like it will be like a backorder. But I don't want to wait forever. Already waited over a month for this one and now he has no coilovers for me. Please help with an ETA. Thanks.

ok well i finally got these on and they are soo much better than GC, the ride is much stiffer and definitely a lot less wheel hop which was what bothered me the most with my GC and stock shocks. still having problems adjusting the height and my alignment is off to the left after the install. the 3rd lock nut does not seem to do anything, i loosen it and try to twist it, but nothing happens. again i know this has been beaten to death, but i just cant figure out how to raise or lower it using the 3rd lock nut.

I think people are misunderstanding how the 3rd one works. You do not use the 3rd locking nut to actually adjust it, you use it to ALLOW the height to adjust. Once you loosen it, tighten the top two and you spin the entire strut down by twisting the very top lock nut. You should see the threads spin down as it goes lower. When you're done, throw the 3rd one back at the bottom.
