I have a question about the pre-load. Decrease pre-load = softer ride = more bouncy ride? and Increase pre-load = firmer ride = less bouncy?

I started to mess around and forgot how much pre-load I set =(

My ride is sorta bouncy and rough(when hit big bump). Wonder I should increase/decrease pre-load? Please help thank you!

I know it sucks having your car sit high in the rear for a couple months but is it really that big of a deal?
When you're used to riding that low, and you realize how nice the car looks... then you have to go back looking at how high it is and how worse it looks in comparison - hell yeah it's a big deal. A lot of people will throw on a body kit, big rims, altezzas, coilovers, neons, spoilers, wings, low-profile tires, racing seats, colored tint, windshield banners, mufflers, shiny windshield wipers, body graphics, stickers, projectors, painted brake calipers and a neon paint job at once all just to look better.

I just want my car slammed. I don't care about anything else. This is all I want.

yeah i've pretty much lost my excitement of recieving these hayames. They will ship sometime this year hopefully, till than all we can do is wait. I just photoshoped my car so that way i could see it that way lowered, it's helped a bit! hehe, just dont look at the wheelgap when you go to get in your car.

I ordered mine back in february from urbin import and still dont have them, so that is how long it's been for me, coming on 3 months now just about. Anyone else been waiting longer than february? I'm supposedly at the top of his queue for recieving mine on next shipment. We'll see

1. The ride quality sucked and after my accident, the shocks blew.
2. I sold them.

That's a long time. I guess it didn't help when I addressed my issue. I can't remember if Urban stopped receiving them due to the issue that was brought up. It would make sense so that no people could be at risk of having similar issues as me and a few others.

Doesn't look like I'll have my springs this week. I'm about ready to get something else for my car.

eddie from true honda posted something earlier about how SPW industries are in the process of making more, so ALL and i mean ALL the vendors currently offering the Hayames are gonna be left in the dust...NO ONE has anymore of these...so says eddie ^_^

good luck to yeall, and enjoy the ride when u get em! :-D

What do you know about Tein Super Street Type SS Coil Overs. Is the installation as straight forward as the hayames?

what i want i really want is a response ferom urbanimport. it seems to me he doesnt post information untill some requests him. so where are u urbanimport. i ordered mine in feb too and sice then its been nothin but promises that they were coming, but then in the end they dont come. i think its total bullsh*t and im f*ckin pissed. is a shipment coming or what. I know when i order or send stuff i know when it will arive and i can keep track of it. If hayame really did ship them they would know not like they ship stuff and then dont care if they get there.

im frustrated. i thought my car would be slammed a month ago. i have springs but its not low enough. man its hard to know what to do. urbanimport any info would be cool, hell true honda i didnt order from u but if u got info and can give me a set date and when i can have them ill buy from u. hell anyone who can give me, or give us all some straight up information would be great. and dont come on and tel me if i dont like the service im getting that i should cancel my oder and go else where. cause if i knew what else i wanted to buy and it was afforable i would have all ready done that by now.

I just think its time for some one to give us all some info, not well they should be here by so so. i want fact. is that to much to ask. we as customers deserve this. but hey thats my personal opinion.

zDs03Civic, the people who have been complaining probably got the wrong rear parts. And thats the people who i was refering to. Its not that it settles, but the time frame the replacements were coming.

dacivic, yeah try putting more preload on the rear to reducing the bouncing.

for everyone expecting hayames: eh its not just urbanimport who's waiting for them. ALL companies are waiting for them. The last i heard they were coming in in the mid of this month. Urban import was going to call hayame today and check the status on them(he posted this on the gb thread i think).

nindoo, install for tein ss is a lot different. if you dont have an 01, you need to buy 01 upper mounts which come up to around $40. the tein ss install is pretty much the same as spring install since you need to take apart the strut.

I talked to our rep yesterday. No further information available at this time. Don't you think if I had an update I would post it like I usually do? I gurantee nobody has this coilover system in stock and ordering from me is the quickest way, as soon as the coilovers get into Hayame they will ship out to our customers directly.

You could've called you know. Mike is a good vendor. He delivers his info when he has it. If a good vendor doesn't get theirs, then the only person to blame is his/her supplier.

actually i usually call hm about once a week, i know its not his fault they have came but still it would be nice when he talked abouthtem being in at the end of last month if he would have posted sometime that week giving info. ithink its important to keep customers informed thats all, not just when new info has arrived, i know alot of people would apriciate that, may be im being selfish. after all he has a company to run and this is just one of the things he has to deal with. i just needed to blow of some steam. thats all.

The hayames are the perfect buy, there the right price, they give the right functionality, it would be nice if you could actually buy them.

stroked_monkey I know what you mean. The thing is its not his fault, tranport is an ugly business. He would be more than happy to generate more sales. At least he's not bull crapping saying he has them, when he doesn't just to generate a few sales.

Well, here's my second Hayame issue - this is something I just don't know how to fix.

I'm getting a popping sound in BOTH of the rear Hayames every time I drive my car over bumps or even if I just get into my car and sit in it. I was reading a thread a while ago and I was thinking perhaps the spring wasn't seated properly - so I tried re-adjusting the preload by taking it off and then putting it back on but gave it less load. Well, this just made the issue worse. (It wouldn't have helped anyway because the top locking nuts enure the spring is seated properly.) It sounds like it's comming from the uppermount (tried tightening the 2 bolts - didn't work) and although I have to eventually take the coilovers apart, I don't wanna have to go through it twice. Tonight I just read about people having this issue and it was because the 3rd lock-nut wasn't tight enough. I'm quite positive they are tight but I'll double-check tomorrow. Anyone know what else it could be? The sound is so loud, if I were to drive on a quiet street it would get people's attention.

i get a noise when i just drive from the rear, but its not a poping sound, kind of sounds like a rattling sound from my exhaust. i checked the hangers, it's allright, i tightened the top lugs just like you, tightend the center lugs in the middle of the strut nothing, i guess i gotta check the preload lugs and the height lugs and see if there tight, but when i installed this stuff, i swear it was tight. i have the right coilover numbers (on the spring for the rsx). wth is going on. post anything you find em2

shitty, that sounds like a big problem...unfortunatly, i have to say if the Hayame situation does not get resolved, then i am gonna head towards the D2's...the Hayames are a great price, but all the probelms are worrying me..hope everything works out

Yea you have to make sure the top 2 lock is tight (meaning you can't move them left or right by using the tool) Then you have to make sure the third lock is tight.

It's not the top two lock nuts, I know that for sure. They get so tight I sometimes have to use all my strength to loosen them. It's not a rattle it's a loud pop that occurs when the coilovers endure even the slightest of movement. It's weird.

Yea I tried tighten all nuts and still got popping sound in the front. I tried adding more pre-load or little pre-load and still got the sound. Even the wrenches got bent haha. I dont know what to do? I noticed when you turn the steering wheel, the spring twisted and made that sound. Is that normal? I got pretty tired testing them(been messing around with all setting for 2 weeks).

I was thinking about picking up these coilovers for my Accord and you guys seem very knowledgeable. Please help me out!

I currently have Tein SS installed and they have a 3" drop in the front. I also have the dampers on the Tein turned to all stiff. I have about a 2 finger gap in the front and that's with the Tein at lowest height. The ride is awesome, absolutely perfect. No bottoming out, no stiff ride, I don't even have to worry about potholes! Here's a pic of the Tein on my car:

I wanted to pick up the Hayame coilovers because they go down to 4" just like the A'PEXi WS coilovers. The difference is the spring rate. A'PEXi have a 10/4 spring rate and Hayame have a 7/4 spring rate for the Accord. The A'PEXi is too stiff of a ride for my liking. I'm wondering if I will be bottoming out if I get the Hayame. Both A'PEXi and Hayame do not have dampening adjustability.

I only want to lower the car and extra 1/2 to 3/4" in addition to the 3" that it's already lowered from the Tein. The Tein won't allow me to do that, only the Hayame or A'PEXi will.

They are also the only full coilovers for my car application that go from 0-4" drop. I'm not to auto-x or track, this car is a daily driver and that's all it's going to be. I also drive on the highway a lot so ride comfort without bottoming out is VERY important. I get that with the Tein SS, it's just that the Tein SS does not give me the drop I want.

Well for us civic owner, if you want a lower drop like 4" u won't have pre-load. THat is bad. I advise u just to keep the tein and be happy with them.

my height in the rear is at the lowest possible setting, im thinking of raising the rear slightly to alleivate some room between the bottom peice of the strut and the shaft of the strut.

slammedEM2 is the rear of you car set to the lowest it can go like mine? maybe the shaft is hitting the bottom peice of the strut, causing the poping? i could be wrong but its worth a try.

Yeah, it's set to the very bottom. I'll give it a try now since I have some time to work on my car now.

Didn't work after slightly raising it. It's definitely in the uppermount. I'm gonna try seeing if it's loose tomorrow. If it's not then I'll have to wait til I take it apart if I feel like doing that.

Right now, I'm definintely considering another set of coilovers. I'm definintely going to consider B&Gs at the least. They will go as low as I want and they pretty much ride/steer the same. Hayame has just about failed me, my time and my patience. I should've never gotten a brand new part on the market - especially since it's manufactured in Japan.
