What did you do to your civic today?
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Over the past few days I have replaced all 4 of the stock speakers with pioneer 2ways in both the front and rear(A huge pain in the ***!). Replaced the headlight bulbs with ones that are supposed to be brighter, but haven't taken her out at night yet. Put in some under dash blue LEDs to match my dome light(Ordering the blue led reading lights this week). Put on a smoked license plate cover to tie in with the smoked tail lights. And installed a new freeway blaster low tone horn. But I'm not impressed with it.... Don't know if it's not getting enough power but it's not any louder than the stock horn!
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Took her out to the snow for the first time. (snowboarding trip to Big Bear)
Had to chain her up and everything because of a light snowstorm. So glad I had a manual instead of the automatic for driving on ice and snow.

But the engine really does run a lot smoother than it did prior to; especially after the oil change.
I did slightly more than 1/3 in brake booster vacuum, 1/3 in the gas tank half full, and the rest in the crank case.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
installed my HID retro today... everything went quite well but I need to aim the lights tomorrow. The driver's side light is burning the retinas of onlookers while the passenger light is searching for loose change on the ground, lol
Quick and super lazy question: which direction do I turn the adjustment **** to raise the reflector? Clockwise or counterclockwise?
Anyway, my setup:
DDM 35W Slim Ballasts
Morimoto Mini H1 Projectors
Morimoto H1 3Five 4300k
*Bi-Xenon shutters spliced into halogen hi-beams for ultimate output.
I'm a little concerned about the strength of the wiring, but my friend who mostly helped with the install assured me it wouldn't be a hazard. Anyone experienced problems with overloading or shortages? Or god forbid... massive fire? lol
(I will have pictures of the projectors installed as soon as they're adjusted and I buff the nastyoxidized yellow lenses again...)

not yet.
Lenses make the whole thing look like garbage. I'll get pics tomorrow after everything's all buffed up again.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
My civic lx 05 had an oil leak from the oil pan. After replacing the oil pan gasket, there is no leak any more but the check engine light came on after driving it a few miles. The Code is P1129. Now the car stops on the red light and act something abnormal. I don't know what did I do wrong. Any suggestion is very welcome. Please help me by responding here or email me.
Update1/21/2013
Opened the upper and lower timing belt covers and removed the crank pulley. I found that there were small pieces of the rubber seal from the lower timing cover. Turned the small crank pulley so the mark on the cam pulley is straight UP. At this point my crank was off about two notches from the tdc mark. I already had bought the new timing belt and water p/p for this vehicle to be replaced latter by my mechanic. I thought let me replace the timing belt and water p/p and bring it to the TDC on cam and crank. I did it and put every thing back together accept the lower timing cover because it has crakes in it and the rubber seal is cut into pieces. Run the car for almost 40 miles. More power, No P1129 sign yet and no stopping on red light yet. I am hoping the problem came because the TB was moved away from the TDC when the rubber seal from the lower TB cover came in the way..

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Just installed some accent lighting inside my car. A single PLCC/2 LED illuminating the little pocket.. thingy.. between the e-brake and the gear shift, as well as one shining down on the cup holders. Also installed a USB plug on one of the blank spots next to the cigarette lighter adapter.. Pics when it's dark out. lol

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Finished painting my front calipers as well.
What's the little extra tabs called?
I was planning to make a usb plug there as well.
I need an extra one, since I drilled into the old ones already lol.

I also took a look at the LEDs I installed now that it's dark.. I may need to install an extra resistor and/or a layer of hot glue or something to dim them a bit.. they bright as fuuu
