Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Been a bit busy with the car lately.
Here's a quick rundown of what I've done over the last couple of days, in no particular order:
1) Engine/Transmission out of the engine bay and separated from each other
2) Both front knuckles off the car, gonna install new ball joints
3) Both front LCAs off the car, gonna bring them to a shop to press in some ES poly bushings
4) Flywheel off, awaiting delivery to the machine shop to resurface
5) Head disassembled, awaiting delivery to the machine shop to check for squareness/recondition valve guides/hot tank or clean like a ****
6) Front and passenger side motor mounts curing (following this DIY guide: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/1...or-mounts.html, except I'm using Flexane 80 instead of 94)
7) Started cleaning the nooks and crannies of my engine bay, so when I put everything back, it's all nice and shiny.
edit: also removed my driver seat. Stupid.. bottom.. support.. thingy.. broke.. need to ghetto rig something to fix it. I should have bought the Recaros way back when instead of these Sparcos... Oh well.

Replaced the alternator because the stupid positive terminal stud broke off inside. Oh well the bearing was grinding like crazy anyway.
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Finally got my side skirts put on yesterday after waiting a bit for the busy body shop to finish painting them
Might do a quick washing and waxing today before the rain comes

Installed and custom mounted my Secret Weapon. Helped a Tacoma owner install his (*cough* inferior *cough*) K&N as well. So much plastic! Also upgraded the grounding. With all this attention I'm paying to it, my engine bay definitely needs a good scrubbing. Next stop, car wash!

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Last week, I started/drove my car for the first time since April. That said, Over the course of the last few months, between school, work, and life, I've done the following:
-Replaced the engine block with one that had <1000 miles
-Replaced front LCA bushings with ES poly ones
-Repaired front/passenger side motor mounts using CrewChief's DIY polyurethane motor mount guide
-Replaced my Morimoto 5Five ballasts with Morimoto 3Five ballasts in preparation for my next retrofit project. You can buy the 5Five ones if anyone's interested.
Also drove her to SoCal with the new engine. Got 400 miles on the first full tank from a previous 320-340 (on a good day)

Installed a remote bass control **** for my alpine m500 amp on my 2001 LX now i can knock hard and knock less without having to change it on my headunit or the amp itself
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Fixed my fog lights that I installed less than a week ago. Crappy ebay harness didn't have enough wire in one area so it broke at a connector. Fixed it-nothing. Spent the next hour testing each different part to find out it had blown the bulbs :/ Walmart wanted $25 for a couple bulbs so I said screw it and went to ebay.

Received new exhaust system gaskets from SRS. Head gasket is leaking. Put BG syncro shift MT fluid in.
Overall d17 still runs strong at 136k. Today the new engine block discussion came up with wife. K20 block savings has begun. This engine is great but its time for something new. Guess the timing is right since she just got a new 8th gen block installed. K20 slow block IDC.

good use of a pot holder. Would love to start a engine savings account, just not a good time at the moment. Changed oil and cleaned air filter. Made low profile ramps.
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Cheap ebay fog harness stopped working and I found a wire had just broken in a spot after being installed for around a week. Extended the wire, and soldered everything instead of crimp-connected. Touch the switch-nothing. Found it also blew my fog bulbs :/ New ones in the mail
Took the civic offroading on accident. Went up north and had to look at a map to go somewhere. I followed the map and the roads marked were rutted dirt roads
