What did you do to your civic today?
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I'm officially a Ricey Sedan
just need to get double sided tape for the H badge. Also painted my cutoff shields black and restored the headlights. It's suppose to be spring WTF!!
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I ordered some Tein Basic Dampers. After that, I'm going to snag some new interior parts (door panels and center console). My interior parts are starting to break, but it's not surprising given 245k miles on the chassis. The squeak coming from the busted driver door panel is about to drive me completely nuts.

Installed a new valve cover gasket a couple days ago. Skipped it during the timing belt job, due to time.
Really glad to change it out. The old gasket seemed fine (130k). Started to pull it out of the grooves and it began to rip apart into pieces.
Rubbed some gasket glue around it, and smoothed it into place.
Then the check engine light came on again. P1457. My car hates it's gas cap. Even got a new evap filter for it. It will turn itself off in a day or so. lol.
Then picked up more Rustoleum while at the auto store because it kicks ***.

did my brakes since my rotor was getting chewed up. Thought something was caught in my pads turned out my axle nut was loose... got my new front coilovers in, rears will be done next weekend and put 3000k hids in my fogs

^ looks good blue! Love those HFP wheels. I have a rear disc conversion waiting to go on but everytime I see a 5 lug makes me contemplate going that route!
Put my KW V2's in yesterday. Going to raise it a little tonight, don't think the v2's are meant to go this low, ride is very bouncy. Ride to work was not pleasant!

^ lol, if I ever do you will be the first one I offer them too. I have thought about it but I don't want to have to give up the wheels yet. Maybe if I find a 5 lug set for a good price.

I did my entire suspension today on a 13 year old car with OEM struts/springs and LET ME TELL YOU GUYS, HOLY CRAP IT WAS ROUGH. 3 went well and the last rear was completely seized in the rear lower control arm bushing. 3 hours later on one bolt we finally got it out
.Finished product! Eibach pro kit all around Struts & Springs. Happy with it

Definitely my first time actually cracking into an engine block. After taking her all apart to take her to the machine shop, it's amazing how incredibly simple it all is, but so precise, all at the same time..
That said, I got her back from the machine shop. Let them do an inspection of the bottom end (everything: pistons, rings, bearings, rods, the block itself for squareness and other discrepancies), and all they did was deglaze the cylinders and recommended I replace the main/rod bearings, just to be safe, especially with the nice big blemish on one of the main bearings along with a lot of polished spots on the babbitt. Main reason I freakin love the machine shop I go to: decent prices, doing jobs right instead of taking the easy way out, and no bullshit answers every time I have questions.
Deglazing and full on inspection only cost me $107.

^ I would look for something used.
Check for rust though, I've had people get used parts and the person who owned the car just painted over the rust..

It ends up being about 2x stiffer than stock and about 1-1.5" lower. Overally I'm happy with it as a DD Toronto roads suck lol

Ha oh really , yeah I didn't mind white but I was just getting into auto body and I painted it with rust paint only cost $35 a gallon but didt turn out to bad , went to Fiji just to try and do a Better job on it .
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Changing out the rusted out muffler for a new one today; nothing fancy just a direct fit Walker 18561 for my 99 Civic LX. From what I've searched it's a relatively quick process unless the rusty bolts give me a problem.
