"OK, all those days I didn't work on the car don't count as install days which is why we're at 11. And also because 11 is one louder than 10. You see, other bands, their ***** only go up to '10', but ours, they go up to '11'. That's one louder."
didnt that come from Guitar Hero?

Re: Install Day 11 (Pg 14) Bye Bye AC- Speedfoos' Turbo Install
repairs are happening just gathering of parts right now. gonna pull the lip off start sanding it down. main thing is i need frame work. im convinced that the frame is notched because of the sunroof. before the incident the sunroof was in there tight and after it rattles around and has play. but anywho it does not make me want to go turbo and the k swap is still happening :-)
you'll see something turbo out of me eventually and itll be in the form of a nissan and itll start with an sr20 and end in a det lol
oh god i love spinal tap!
the review for shark sandwhich was just 2 words.....**** sandwhich

Nice! Did you end up buying that little 'Z' then? Be careful, one money pit on wheels is bad enough, let alone 2 of them!
That's a sumbitch about your frame though. If the sunroof had play, it also may leak. Hopefully it just jarred the rails loose?
Stopped by my welder today, he still hasn't started on it. Once he does, it will be a quick 2-hour job. I won't start getting pushy unless its the last bit I'm waiting on.
Off to the garage to shred my fingers on wiring!

Speedfoos I have been watching every step of the turbo install and must say that I am very impressed. I think you should make a video of the fire up.

Re: Install Day 12 (Pg 15) Bye Bye AC- Speedfoos' Turbo Install
That is the part I'm most afraid of!
I've been busting my *** for 2 weeks now, and have probably logged over 40 hours on the install and all the other **** I've been doing while putting the turbo on. If this ****er doesn't turn over, leaks oil, sprays fuel all over the place, or does anything else other than purr like a kitten on Chris' basemap, I'm going out into town and killing the first person I see!
I'd like to think I've done everything right. That it's all hooked up correctly, and I don't have any manufacturer defects in the parts I have. I keep telling myself, "Remember to fill it back up with oil, coolant, and PS fluid before you try to start it, Clint!" This better be fanfreakingtastic when it's done!

Yea I know the feeling turning over a engine that has been pulled apart and put back together is a nerve racking experiance, at least thats how I felt after rebuilding my jeep.
But I'm sure it will start just fine and I'm sure you can handle what kinks might pop up.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Re: Install Day 12 (Pg 15) Bye Bye AC- Speedfoos' Turbo Install
Ouch man, that sucks. I would have just bought the HO jobby off Ebay for that price, but then you'd have had to deal with the downtime. Is you welder back in town yet?
The one thing I'm really worried about is the fueling. I bought the injectors used and didn't get them cleaned or flow tested. I mean they look fine, but I won't know for sure until I fire the bitch up. Some time this week hopefully!

Re: Install Day 12 (Pg 15) Bye Bye AC- Speedfoos' Turbo Install
he just got back in today, but im still waiting on a set of 20 t-bolt clamps to come in, and ive decided i want to get my valve cover and charge pipes powder coated, luckily i was able to borrow a spare valve cover so i wont have down time. now i just gotta pick a color, i think i may have to copy off of you and go with blue since just about everything aluminum under my hood is blue... AEM/hondata cam gear, vtec condom, GE vac mani, GE oil cap

Re: Install Day 12 (Pg 15) Bye Bye AC- Speedfoos' Turbo Install
I was nervous as hell when I first fired up my built engine... It was REALLY relieving to have it run like a stock Honda. The only real difference is when the starter turns it over it sounds different.

Blue is better. Its hotter than red.
Yeah I need to more two t-bolt clamps as well because I didn't have enough of the right size ones. Its just for the air filter pipe, one on the pipe side next to the snail and the other on the filter itself. I'll be getting a new filter soon anyway, so I'm not stressing it though.

Just your standard 3" (75mm) cup brush. It flexes enough to get into the nooks and crannies.

Yeah that glove box looks like ****! Oh well, I've some aluminum sheet that will do the trick for it tomorrow.
Naw, Paul my welder is an artist with a TIG torch. All these delays have really forced me to take my time and do everything right though!
