oh ok!! so like when i see the AEM fuel rails like this
The injectors would hang from the bottom, going into each of those tubes where the spark plugs are.
like are these our stock injectors??
or what are these? because they dont look like the ones in your pic.

that used to be my block. that was the first motor that came in my car. i hydrolocked it at 35000 miles and bent 2 rods and 1 wedged against the block. rather than rebuilding it, i opted for an a2. i sold that clock to someone last winter and its been making its way around the forum ever since. there arent any other problems with the block. never been overheated or anything. if youre using aftermarket rods it has to be notched anyway. i just gave you a jump start on that.

foos...my car came to life today.
vtec head swap - complete
k-pro install - complete
exedy stage 1 and flywheel - complete
motor dropped back in - complete
slim fans installed and wired - complete
i have TONS of tiny things to do..like swapping the k-pro board into the OEM ECU housing, putting my dash and front splash shields in. Turbo cant go in until my boost solenoid, return conversion, install the larger injectors, t-bolt clamps and downpipe get here/made, etc.. BUT THE CAR RUNS AND GETS ME FROM A TO B FTW!! NO MORE BLOWN HEADGASKET FTW!

Juice - thanks for the info, that helps a lot. It didn't look too abad nd since I'll be getting it sleeved anyway, the machine shop will make those marks go away.
Good stuff Edwin! Its amazing all the little **** that goes into these installs. Glad you're running around in your Civic again. I've been driving an Audi A4 (one of my troopie's is deployed and let me watch the car as long as I would drive it) and I hate it. Loose, sloppy POS that's already falling apart and its a 2000. Its funny that my much cheaper Honda is a better car IMO. Can't wait to hear when you baby is boosted again!

speedfoos, how much more do you have left to go? Can't wait to see the ride all completed, they won't know what to do over there in the UK when ur ripping up the streets lol. I had to drive my car down to my good friends shop to get the radiator support moved back into it's place so the hood would shut, well i didn't have a front bumper on the car when i drove it and everyone was looking at me like i'm an idiot hahah

Glad this thread helps you out a little Travis. Even if you're not boosting, it helps seeing the different parts of the engine that's in your car to know how everything works. I'm a visual person and need to see things to get a better understanding of how they work. Books just don't cut it for me.
Oh and to make myself feel better about my exhaust not being here. I ordered a better boost gauge from atpturbo! It's sexy, says Garrett (like my turbo does) and I'll actually need it. The one I have now only goes to 15 psi. This one goes to 30. Gotta leave room for growth!

^^ true life. you were killing us on that coil pack/injector mix up.. that was hilarious. but yea man the basics of a motor and whats inside are sooo much easier to understand and identify with a visual.
nice job foos ur mocking it up pretty good. that extra lovin will pay off in the long run. but let me get sumthing striahgt. basically after its all said and done for this stage of the turbo set up. u will eventually have to do alot of this over when ur ready to put the new block in right?....

LOL - a lot of it yes, I will have to do over. Some of the stuff will stay the same, but most of it won't. I'll be building the engine outside of the car, so it should be pretty much a case of:
A) Build new motor
B) Pull old motor out
C) Put new motor in
D) Hook up some stuff
E) Tune
F) Drive
But it's going to be a while before I am at that stage. I'll have plenty of time to enjoy this stage of the build before I change it all again!

Yeah its taking a while, but I'm also going slow. This could probably be done in about 10 hours if you had everything and moved right along, without having to figure out what to cut, de-fabricate, and move out of the way. Slow and steady wins the race.
Alpha, I'll have to check out the NWS later.....Thank God I don't have a crop of back hair too!
