I would recommend replacing the valve cover gasket and not using rtv. Rtv will cause it to leak faster than just using the gasket.

VC gasket is brand new (twice now), until I figured out where the leak was coming from I just kept replacing it. I had a lot of extra ones from leaky HG woes.
Yeah, I can't remember the goofy order needed to get the upper cover off. I thought I had to remove the PS bracket - which is under the motor mount - to do so. I'll post the sequence up later today. And I'll be using RTV since Hondabond is like $30 a tube over here.

Common problem I see all the time.....watch the cam humps aswell....I see alot of rtv at the ends...if you put too much rtv it will leak aswell.

I love how you like to talk about my meat.
BTW, glad the leak is gone.
I am thinking about sending you a "Care" package. lol

Thanks Matt.
Alternator is here! :woot:
Going out to install it right now. And I notice there's already a DIY on how to RnR one so I don't have to feel guilty about not doing one!

Alternator is in, but it appears to not have fixed anything. I'm going to pull out my gauge wiring and re-do it this week and see if that fixes it. Basically going to run new power wires to see if that helps anything. In fact I'm going to go do that right now.

I'm sure this question has already been asked, but 124 pages of thread is a lot to remember, and even more to look back on. How much HP are you expecting at the wheels here? Would you rather not have done this setup on a RWD or AWD car?

Well, I'm building what I have. Since it's a FWD Honda Civic then that's what I'm working on. Honestly, it's six of one, half dozen of the other as far as what I'm working on. I love the Honda (most of the time) so I don't mind that it's FWD and can't put power to the ground unless you have tires made out of glue.
At this point, I'd be happy with about 220-230 on the dyno with my current setup. If I can ever get this voltage gremlin figured out, I'll dyno it.

Nothing like haulin *** in a 1.7 SOHC FWD Honda...especially when you wax a 5.7l v8
Well I now have a small amount of coolant on the plugs.......still no leaking headgasket...holds pressure, no overheats, & no coolant in cylinder. Even after being on plugs. I cannot find anything. Since you had all of the same issues and only a new head fixed, I believe I'm in the same boat.
I believe car heats up expanding a hairline facture in cylinder head causing coolant push. Only thing I can think of. Probably happened at tuner......didn't have these problems before turbo...and I have never overheated it at all!
Just a little update on my ride.......You got DVOM yet clint? Multimeter? Go buy a cheapy at the parts store. All ya need to start electrical testing! I can get ya any schematic ya need. It's just 2 clicks away on my desktop at work

thats a badass gremlin.
Well since everyone is stating there problems.. might as well post mine from school.
I had to do an R&R on a little Mercury 2-stroke 8 horse. The little bastard had 5 destroyed gaskets. Then i had some continuous backfire coming from one of the intake port side gaskets. I replaced that, and it kept on backfiring from the same place. It seems that someone had tried re-threading the center hole of that plate cover thing, and did a terrible job on it. So i have to re-fill it, and re-thread it. Also, the engine wont idle, without it being 1/4 WOT, it just sputters and dies after about 2 seconds...
Marine Tech ftw!!... soon ill have threads like the great Foos once made.. or is still making.

and the bent one... not Clint's fault, shipping companies lack of care

ok, heres the lowdown on ur old head Clint, its .005 out from being true, with an allowance of .002, so i just need to find if having .003 shaved off will be possible, just for when i get ready to boost in a year or so.
btw Clint, here is how "well" UPS handled the package...

note the three holes in the side where the IM studs passed through
anyway, i got a new bolt for a dollar, so no sweat, and i got the old bolt out in a jiffy, good old two bolt trick worked like a charm(yes Clint, u were right again) good luck on ur trip! later

I switched all my EM studs to bolts to make it easier to get the manifold off with the turbo and everything. Just figured I'd share.

Glad everything is working out Adam. I should think that the head will be fine with that amount shaved off of it. You could clay the pistons to be sure though.
Ben, wouldn't that make it harder to mess with the mani and whatnot? I need the studs to hold that ****er on there during de-installs and all my numerous repairs.
