anyways, on a slightly less gay topic, what's next to do on this car? When, if ever, is it gona' be up, running and boosting without a problem?

She's boosting without a problem as we speak, it's just that the idle is flaky. Next up on the mod list are a few things:
- New JDMFabtech custom intake mani. Hopefully will have the funds together by the end of the week so Gerry can start on it soon.
- Full 3-inch" exhaust with a Moroso spiral race "muffler" near the very end.
- New alternator from streetthrowback as soon as it gets here and then the tune gets dialed in and dyno'd - finally. Which will be after the exhaust and new IM.
She'll always be a work in progress though.

Yeah, I'm buying a used OEM one like Tony mentioned. 90% of my stereo **** is up on Ebay now to pay for the new IM, so I really don't need more than 70amps.
That being said, bounce Alterstart into Google and you'll find the guys who make the 170amp alternators for our Civic. They're like $330 from them, and I think they're based in Texas. Couple folks here are running them.
There is also a vendor on Ebay who sells the same ones for like $260 + shipping. Here is his shop Click Me. He doesn't have any listed right now, but does keep them in stock.

So when are you coming back? How long have you been out there? What cam are you running now?

170 amps Steve, instead of the 70 amp stocker. She puts out more juice than the stocker for all the stereo equipment and other misc. chatchkis that you have in the car. I know those neons and disco ball draw a lot of current....
Thanks Andy, I don't PCS back to the states until fall. At that point we'll have been in Europe for over 4 years.
The head is stuffed with the Stage 2 Crower, Crower springs and retainers and stock valves. Really, really nice. Yeah, you gotta get some vids. A digicam wedges in the passenger head rest nice and securely! I'm curious to see how loud your exhaust is.

IDK man. You shouldn't need it as long as everything runs properly and you're not taxing the system with anything crazy. The k-pro and gauges aren't going to pull enough to make a difference so you should be just fine. The only reason I was going to buy one was because I was going to add two more amps - then my priorities re-aligned. It's more fun to listen to the engine than the tunes!

havnt been in here in a while.. looks good clint.. things seem to be working smoothly with that new head, sounds beastly... in for more vids and the dyno pulls
my cars still taking a **** on me.. my passenger headlight bulb blew out on my yesterday.. the instrument panel is still not working. I have a feeling theres a short somewhere. Thats the only thing that I can think of. I picked up a haynes manual and i see what wires i should be looking for. I just have to get in there and rip everything apart to see whats up. If it is a short.. what can I do?? just run new wires? splice it back in? Ive checked every fuse.. everythings fine.. oh and i dont have a radio, because of when i reset my battery. i had the code written down.. because the sticker was gone from my car.. now i lost the code i wrote down.. so i have to get into my stereo, remove the oem unit and the code should be in the back.. but with school/work i cant find the time to do this
:sigh: this car has lost its value for me..

^you might want to try calling the dealer you got your car from for the code. if it didnt come from a dealer, you might be able to call honda and get it. just a few thoughts to save you some time and good luck with the guages.
car definitely sounds amazing clint. i cant wait to see it on the dyno.
more vids please.

Clint, as soon as I find time, Im going to rip the dash apart and get behind the cluster, is there an easy way to find out what wire is shorting out? Would the answer lie in that Haynes manual. Pm me when you get a chance, Id like to know what I should be looking for in terms of a short before I actually get out there n take everything apart.
Sorry for the threadjack, your exhaust sounds bubbly, if that makes sense, your idle does still seem out of wack but im guessing its because of that alternator like you said before. how much of a tune have you done yourself since you put the new head on, on a percentage scale?
