Tomorrow will be another idle datalog after everything else gets installed. Then the 5W20 Syn. will come out (it's only been in there for those start-up vids. Ouch to the wallet!) and the 5W30 RP goes in. While the oil is out, I'm popping the VC to re-check the torque on my head bolts. Since I never checked it after replacing the HG a couple months ago, I figure now would be a good time.

New RTV on the VC will sit over night - I'm taking no chances on leaks - and then I should have a new map in my inbox when I get home Tuesday (if necessary). She goes on her first road test Tuesday night for more datalogging, if everything goes as planned!

try not to mess up anything on those head bolts, over-torqueing (?) them could really mess things up right?

hey quick question.. have u made sure everything with your transmission and clutch and all that stuff is working properly still? will it get out of gear and move? i know you had been moving stuff around and alot of wiring was done and all that so just to be on the safe side u should double check those kinds of thing to make sure ur even able to move.. just a thought (maybe a dumb one)

Yeah, I'm just about to start learning how to weld. I've borrowed a mig welder and have downloaded several books and videos to dump into my brain. Since I've never welded (or brazed) anything before, I just JB Weld'd it instead for now. I can always go back and scrape the JB off, buy some brass rod and braze it once I get more comfortable with my skill at it.

Did you send the same map twice Chris? Or is the one I just got a little different than the one you sent earlier? File names are the same. Also was that your correct PayPal addy?

Just remember, all those extra parts you end up with after disassembling and re-assembling your car save weight. This equals more horsepower!!!

Most mechanicking is simply screwing and unscrewing bolts. Just get a Hayne's manual to start out with - Chilton's suck, Helm's are the best - and dive right in. Use us here at the forum for the stuff you don't understand, but other than that, this stuff isn't rocket science.
