What did you do to your civic today?
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Didn't do anything really to the civic today except work on removing those annoying little brass screws from the rear rotors putting on, but am having to cut off the rear drivers' side brake linbe and making a new brake line.
Today I actually replaced all the instrument cluster lights in my Ford F250SD.
Got to be a pain in the *** driving at night with a flashlight to see my gas gauge and my speedometer. (Hell, in our town, if I pass a cop doing 75 in a 45, they don't do anything...usually have my red rotator light on top of my truck going and my red/white dash light.):

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
woo pretty stoked that I can actually do stuff to my car again. After doing a retrofit and adding RSX seats this summer/fall I haven't been able to do much of anything. Junior year in Engineering = no life... But finals are over and I have 4 weeks to absorb myself in my car!
Started off today by cleaning up all the trash out of the interior, conditioning my seats, vacuuming, and armoralling everything! Cleanest my interior has been since I bought the car haha. Tomorrow I'm gonna wash it. I'm thinking about getting an orbital polisher so I can actually polish and wax my car in a reasonable amount of time. Anybody know a reliable relatively inexpensive brand?
Hopefully I'll have time for some bigger projects later in break

Swapped out the wiper combo switch on my LX for the EX one that has adjustable delay. So much nicer when it's raining now.
Also replaced a bunch of rusty bolts in the engine bay for shiny new ones.

Yep, direct swap. The only difficulty I had was getting the damn thing out after the two screws were out. But I finally realized there's a small little nipple holding it on the front (I was doing it in the dark). This is the part number 35256-S5A-A51.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I thought about washing mine too. Then I looked at the forecast (chance of rain tomorrow) and then looked at the clouds looming over the west side of vegas.
yesterday, though, I fixed my car.. I guess last time I worked on her, in my frustration, I set the timing off (even though I'm damn meticulous with it), so I had to adjust that.. Cam gear was about 2-3 teeth retarded, causing massive power loss and my car to go rich as hell at WOT.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Washed and waxed my 01 ex coupe, did some headlight restoration, added some air into my tires for the winter and found out my spare had no air in it (i guess the previous owner never got a flat), and vacuumed the interior

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
My uncle backed into my passenger side mirror and snapped it off (no pressure at all) lol. We tried taking it apart and macgyvering it back together, but it didn't hold too well. So now im driving with duct tape where my passenger should mirror should be lol.
He ordered a new one today, and it should be in tomorrow. I'm really not upset because he's one of my favourite people on this planet lol. He's also an autoshop teacher at a highschool so he knows what he's doing and i have complete faith in him.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Not today but replaced the drums and shoes on the DX. never seen someone butcher a drum setup up as bad as the previous job. The piece that adjusts the star was completely upside down so it wasn't even touching, half the springs were installed wrong, and the shoes were destroyed. Bare metal on the centers and hadn't even touched the outer edges. An hour job turned into two and a half hours since I had to figure out the correct setup and do so many adjustments
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Worked on beefing up the electricals on the car. Alternator crapped out on me, ended up getting a Denso from Japan. Took a while to get to me, so I anodized my Unorthodox Racing Pulleys (Denim Blue), replaced all the grounds with 4 AWG Streetwires Ultraflow (closer in size to 2/0) and Twist Crimp Connectors, replaced the battery terminal with a Platinum Rockford Fosgate terminal, picked up a new Optima Yellow Top and swapped out the ELD. Working on a negaive kill switch, so I don't have to pull fuses or the negative terminal anymore. Picked up a 50 amp Hella Marine Switch, got the machine shop to fabricate a mount, then I anodized it black.
Need to pick up a couple of well nuts to mount into the fenderwell and a few 4 AWG 3/8" terminal lugs to complete.
Re-powdercoated my valve cover a fine grain wrinkle black.
Some pics of the progress...
Denso Alternator, New Alt Pulley, ELD and Gates Racing Blue Belt

4 AWG Ground Wire

Kill Switch

Powder Coated Valve Cover

Denim Blue Anodized UR Pulleys

Alternator Installed

Battery and Dual 4 AWG Negative Terminal (one wire to each ground point)

Unorthodox Racing Underdrive Pulley

Engine Bay Shot
