What did you do to your civic today?
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Yesterday I painted the grille piece I had been looking for. Sanded, three coats of black and three of clear. Then I let it sit overnight to dry and today I put it on.
Also the ****** who I got it from ripped me off. The trade was my 05 sedan grille for his 05 coupe grille and the piece I needed. I drove 3 hours to Ottawa to trade it and as soon as we traded he sped off. I thought something was up but I only noticed that the grille he gave me was a cheap knock off when I got back home and compared it to my oem one. Firstly it's cracked and it's made of really hard brittle plastic instead of the softer more durable OEM plastic. There's no sign of anything OEM on it and it says Made in Taiwan instead of USA like on the oem one that I have. Unless there is some major manufacturing difference between 04 and 05 coupe grilles then this little **** ripped me and I'm beyond pissed, and now I miss my sedan grille.

Good to finally see you at a meet (sort of, haha). Thanks for the ono food, bro. Pulp Fiction and Big Kahuna's FTW!
Yea, I showed ya already.
But to everyone else, I finally got my parts in. Off to powdercoating (candy blue swaybar) and anodizing (hard anodized gold brace and bar ends). Just worried that everything clears the exhaust and LCAs.

The bar is almost as big in diameter as a paint can!
Hopefully, it'll fit.

But seriously, that blows. Do you know the name of the guy in Ottawa? Maybe I can meet up with him for you...
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I think his name is mike. I asked him real quick while shaking hands but I'm not sure. He's a short skinny asian. Got a pic of his car though as he was speeding off like a bat out of hell.

Had clear fogs in the front, and what looked like an oem 04-05 sedan grille with a red "H" honda logo. If you see him, key him for me. Actually put a dent in every damn body panel on the car. Then slash the tires. We met on a McDonalds on Innes road btw. Kinda wishing I'd gone to his place now...
Oh yeah and if you really wanna meet up with him, he's got other items for sale on Honda-Tech so he wouldn't be hard to schedule an appointment with. Damn I wish someone would like to join me in a little beat down.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Why is it when you are broke, something always pops up that you need to pay for? I knew they were close, just hoped that it could have waited another month or two.
Bad News - Heard the first "squeaks" from my front brakes earlier today. Pads are getting low.
Good news (not really, but better than expected) - Called Dean at Hot Rod USA for a quote on some BP-10 Street semi-metallic pads (no ceramic options for my calipers, ugh) $85 shipped Monday. Not too bad, they're $100 at Corsport and $89 or so at JEGs and Summit, shipped in 8 to 10 days.
FYI
If you ever wanted to know anything about brakes, Dean is one of those guys who's an encyclopedia of info. He's got a few blogs, look him up sometime. As good as he is with brake knowledge, he's the total opposite when it comes to people skills. Grumpy old guy. Give and take, I guess.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Eh. Drove to Wendy's and back. I seriously need to get new tires. I have a bad leak in the left front. I have a tire, but no wheel. Maybe I'll just put the wheel on that and get them rebalanced. They need it badly. No point in washing my car this week. Gonna rain straight through. I should give mine a good detail before winter hits though.
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
ugh, i hate a flat a few weeks ago.. had to walk to the store, get fix a flat, then race to the tire place and they were able to patch it, thank the lord. not fun though - i need to get some new tires too, but im hoping i can just buy new tires and rims all together.. we'll see :/
