I am definitely starting to see all the perks that could be had working at this new place.Do you find that the inside of the spring is tough to thoroughly coat (paint)? I mainly was concerned about the chipping in paint and a new coat of paint is def gonna be better than what I already had.

That's good to know. I just started working part time at a metal shop and have access to powder coating & anodizing so I think I am just looking to make things more complicated than they should be

I repainted my coils too and took my time to do it very carefully, I actually used five coats of paint and two coats of clear caliper paint, but the springs just don't seem worth to much effort.

Anyways
I got my oil changed today, it was overdue and low / black in colour. Would have done it myself but i had a coupon for a free oil change so i said why not lol
Last time i go somewhere to do it though, these guys came back every 30 seconds and asked me if i wanted stuff done, from power steering fluid to cabin air filters (which both need to be done but i'm not paying like $100 when i can do it myself for basically free lol)
Also a weird sound my car was making has mysteriously vanished after the oil change :P
Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I uhh.. washed it good... de oxidiezed the paint and clay barred the hood and roof.. waxed both. Ran out of time to do the rest of the car. Will attack it again next week since I work all weekend.. Also.. cleaned the engine bay up a bit

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
spent a few hours stripping and repainting (again) that top roof lip where the molding is on the right side. for some reason the paint bubbled last year, maybe cause it was too cold. this time i primered first, then put touchup paint (used the whole bottle) with a foam applicator. overall came out nice and i can buff tomorrow. better than the metal showing and rusting. the problem with having an accident is that mysterious rust starts popping up all over the fixed areas, pretty much the whole back half of my car has had issues. eventually im getting a new paint job if i decide to keep this car a bit longer (going with some type of different silver so theres not a whole lot of worry to match everything inside and under the hood. its just getting so bad that there is touchups and damages all over.

well paint was a fail. the honda touchup paint decided to turn the primer to liquid so now i have a nice swirl of primer and paint. looks like tomorrow i will have to rattlecan it with silver metallic and hope its a close match.

Today I finished all of the wiring for the fog lights except plugging the final wire into the ignition because I wasn't sure which plug it was. Also changed my cabin air filters... the old ones were pig nasty with a thick grey layer of dust, hair, rocks and dirt. Probably hadn't been changed since 2005. And finally I put on a cheap SRI with a Canadian Tire filter. It's currently being held in place with a bent coat hanger haha and it rattles like a **** but it sounds AMAZING. I'll have to make a video on it because I didn't think it would sound this impressive.

like $40 bucks i think? Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Well I just bought this Canadian Tire filter for $25. I took a more expensive filter from its box (a Ractive one) and put it in some cheap filters box and saved $15 haha. I'll go for a really nice filter when it's time to replace this one.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
sprayed the roof lip with "silver metallic" and it turned out okay but the silver doesnt match and has a few lumps for some reason. overall still better than having metal and rust showing i guess. at least it should be protection til i can afford a better fix, assuming it doesnt bubble up like last time. in a few days i will try some rubbing compound to hopefully make it shine a bit more. also the whole side of the car got covered in paint dust but luckily it all wiped off except for the windows which i can scrub later.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Water planed into a curb
It's not horrible though. I wasn't going fast and the ground was wet from rain (not a lot of water, but that also means that the oils in the ground could just be sitting there.) I switched into the turning lane, then the car decided it wanted to keep going in that direction... Rim is shaved down in one spot, but it's not too bad. The car isn't shaking when i'm at high speeds (brought it up to 100 kph), the only thing is the steering wheel is a little off center (turned to the right) when going straight. It's not pulling to any sides either. If I let go of the steering wheel it keeps going straight.
I took it to a friend's rim shop and he said that since it isn't shaking, thats a good sign. It most likely would only need an alignment. If I wanted to repair the rim it would cost around 150. He also said that it's safe to drive on as is and don't need to get it repaired if I don't mind how it is now and don't have the money.
That made me a lot happier, but it still sucks

Ya, i'm probably going to do it Monday because I have no time otherwise. (Aside from sunday, but most places are closed). How much does an alignment usually cost? He estimated like 70 bucks because he was just a worked and didn't do the alignments himself. Also, how long does it usually take?

Said eff it and installed my stage 1 cam today
Haven't noticed much a difference, a little more sound, a little more up and go, but nothing truly spectacular.. Yet.. I'm waiting for the ecu to catch up.. Also, once I get around to tuning it, it'll prolly be hella happy
