the buffing helps smooth out the globs and streaks and blend it in better with the surrounding paint. I'll be slapping on clear coat in a day or two to seal the deal. Re: What did you do to your civic today?
After thinking that I destroyed my whole interior light assembly from trying to install new LEDs (they were the wrong size), I recently discovered I only blew the fuse.
So I bought the right sized LED's from this vendor on Amazon. About $12 for 10 bulbs. Seems a bit cheap but the bulbs have great reviews. Replaced the fuse and changed out my front ceiling lights, trunk light, and license plate lights. They weren't as bright as I thought they would be but going from dull yellow to pure white is plenty good for me.

Removed the carpet in order to start the carpet dying process.
Swapped out badly painted vents for clean vents.
Re-wired deck after some faulty wiring caused it to stop working.
Re-grounded my amp so the subs would stop cutting out with too much bass applied.
Hid some of my aux audio and lighting wires better.

Dug deep into the darkest, dustiest corner or my wallet look for what little remains I could scrounge up. $10 descended from the heavens and ordered me some code-matched touch up paint from Paintscratch.com.
Fiji Blue never looked so great! I made almost every imperfection on my car disappear, even a large scuff under the front bumper. All that's left to fix is two door dings and a couple spots where the clear-coat is chipped and I'll have my car's dress looking factory fresh again.
By the way, Paintscratch.com is an awesome place for touch up paints. You gotta give them a week or two to mix your paint, but it's a guaranteed perfect match if you give them the correct paint code.

Not today, but a couple days ago I removed the splash shield. Long story short, don't expect it to hold up if you accidentally bottom out the front end in the dessert. Meh, was bound to happen eventually. I drive that thing too many places it should never go lol.

previous owner thought not putting a woodruff key back in and giving the crank bolt massive torque would hold when they did a timing belt was a good idea. searching for a new head tomorrow.

Noooooo!! My heart goes out to you, and I am greatly sorry for your loss. I don't know what I would do if I lost my baby...other than replace/rebuild the engine, or course lol...good luck!

i know how you feel. when my crank broke loose from the crank pulley i teared up a bit.

Went for my first drive in the canyon since my suspension upgrades. The car handled extremely well but the pot holes seemed to slow me down a bit. Beautiful day for a drive!

Got my windows tinted. Didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. There's bubbles and streaks. Also, my car has a water leak in the passenger's floorboard that I hope won't cause problems with the tint sticking, because the car has a lot of moisture in it. Found out that window fog, night time and tint don't go well together. I ran my car over a sidewalk-height barrier. It wouldn't sound so stupid if you saw the situation though.

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Replaced my old ebay can style muffler with a Magnaflow oval.
Great improvement in sound quality, although I miss the violent grunt that the old muffler made on startup, now it's a bit quieter. No more droning though!
Also had my cheap 2.5" piping re-bent for more clearance and to prevent an annoying exhaust/floorpan rattle every time I run the AC or drive in the rain. Whole deal with the muffler cost came out to be around $200, $120 of which is labor.
I will probably have the exhaust tip re-fitted because it sticks out too far for my liking but the shop guy refuses to change it so I'll have to find a buddy who knows how to weld

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
I replaced my VTEC solenoid gasket. It was shot and leaking oil. Simple fix, only took about 20 minutes.
Also, fixed my sunroof. It was sticking so I used a little WD-40 to clean the tracks and greased them with some high temp grease. After opening it and closing it a few times, no more sticking.
And then I gave her a bath. I still dont have a lot done to the car yet but I still think it looks great!

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
Decided today that the Civic needs so much body work that it's worth a body shop overhaul. Getting roof dents fixed, dents in almost every panel, chipped chrome, dented front bumper, slim jim scratches above both windows and more.
Might use this opportunity, since they're repainting the entire car, to change from blue to black or gunmetal. Any recommendations?

Trying to find a real dark color from PPG. Maybe just a tinge off of pure black.
Re: What did you do to your civic today?

Re: What did you do to your civic today?
My old car i had to lower the exhaust about 8 inches, pull the tank out, swap the pump and put it all back in. Such a pain in my ***. I was thinking about cutting a hole for it under my backseat but i ended up selling it
