*CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
yes they can be taken off i have my headliner, sun visors and all of my plastic pillars wrapped in faux suede i got from jo-anns. first you have to unscrew them from the roof there is a plastic cover you remove to get to the screws were it attaches to the roof then the visors open like a clam shell just wedge a flat head in the crease and pry them apart. getting the mirror and trim off is a pain because there like plastic riveted into place you have to drill them out then bond them back together when your done. pics of my headliner and rear pillars.
anyways, what do you mean unscrew them from the roof? is there a screw in them to unscrew? or do you just turn them over and over til they come out. i know what plastic piece ur talkin about, i messed with it, but thought i was gonna break it off, so i stopped. lol. i dont think i'd take the mirrors off, i'd just tape it up very good and paint it with it all together. but i need the visor off to do it. are they easy to get back on?
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
yeah were it attaches to the roof the swinging part there is a plastic cover that pops off and there are a couple screws.remove the screws and the sun visor will come off then you can mess with it

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
dannng i love how mean this makes em look though.. and i love those eyelid's or eyebrow's.. whatever people call em.. is there any way to change the bulb in these headlights to make them brighter at night? so it improves your visability?
and also, are the ones in ^ that pic what these: http://www.slickcar.com/details/3948...headlights.asp would be similar to? i cant tell from the pic on that site if there are 2 halo rings or just 1.. but thought i'd ask anyways. lol

Personally, I'm not a fan of halos
They really only work on Bimmers
As do Audi lights only works on Audis...
However, I do like crystal headlights with city lights.
Which I might plan to do sometime in the near future.

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
especially the R8.. anyways, i understand what u mean about certain lights being for certain cars. and i agree, but i do wanna find a headlight that does look nice, clean, and sharp for my car, and if they happen to have halo's then ill just have to deal with it. the reason i like these http://www.slickcar.com/details/3948...headlights.asp is because they dont seem so busy.. if ya get what i mean.. they seem clean and slick. there are some other ones that seem to have like 7 different things goin on in one light. 3 lights on the bottom, 2 on the sides, strip across the top, reflectors, etc.. and those might fit some people, but too much for me. these seem simple, yet sharp. what is your take on that?

I like OEM style, without the ambers

Looks sexy on a white/black civic

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
i like those too.. and i also like workin with black and white colors. that'd make things 10x easier, but oh well.. she's blue and ill just have to deal with it. lol.
i think that's what makes me not like the oem style so much, is that amber in them. cuz when i look at those u posted, they look good. really good.

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
how come every time i see a brand new audi one of there christmas lights are burned out. also i saw a piar of OBX halo headlights on ebay they saidthey were equipt with ION projectors im not sure what brand ion is but maybe they are halfway decent.
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
i found a post on this forum talkin about it a little bit.
https://www.civicforums.com/forums/2...rojectors.html
i love how the ION lenses look.. the purple/yellow/blue/weird light they give off depending where you are in front of em.. if im not mistaken (which i could be) its the same kinda light you see like on a lot of cadillac's.. escalades and cts's have em mostly. ive never ever seen that look on a civic though, so that'd be different, and possibly worth lookin into. do you got a link of where you were lookin at em?
and yeah, the audi's seem to have an issue with those lights. ive maybe seen 1 or 2 with a full set of the lights on at the bottom, otherwise, there either one or more out on em.

Are you trying to get actual HIDs?
Or just HID-like bulbs?
Because I get all my HID's from this guy on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-HI...spagenameZWDVW
Bought 3 sets from him, all work great
And we use H4/HB2/9003 bulbs

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
the philips bluevision are the brightest blue coated bulbs (still not as bright as clear tho). if you want the brightest light output and whiter than stock, go with philips XP bulbs from www.powerbulbs.com you will not be disappointed.

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
k cool
i was cleanin up under my hood a little bit a few min ago, and was lookin at the back of the headlights and man.. that is a tight fit. especially on the driver's side.. there's like maybe 2" of space to work with to get the bulb out.

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
your power steering reservoir pulls up and out of the way, letting you change the bulb. The manual actually tells you to do that
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
these are the ones i would buy right?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/US-DI...Q5fAccessories
to fit in the headlights i have now?
