Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
lol.. CA tint laws FTL. I would like to go darker, as well, but I'm content with the 35% NV allows on the fronts and my limo tint everywhere else
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
might be a dumb question, but the "legal" part of it just has to do with the fronts and windsheild right? so for instance, i have a 4dr, and if i got limo again in the back 2 and back window, but got 35% in the fronts, is that ok?

Thing about ABS is that it's brittle,
But as long as you're careful, ABS is a lot cheaper than buying poly
Poly usually costs twice ABS
Sad thing is, the RS lip i want...only comes in ABS

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
i just noticed i have huge spider cracks in my urethane lip. not sure when that happened but i guess when it bends the paint doesnt bend with it lol. too many steep driveways i guess
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
i found a thread on a different forum, cant remember the name of it, but some dude had made his own black front lip out of garage door bottom material. its that flat piece that goes on the bottom of the garage door, and its got a slight angle in it, enough to screw down against the bumper and looks like a lip. ill see if i can find it if you guys wanna see it, but i thought it was pretty neat. it dang sure wont crack cuz its rubber and looks good if you do it right (his did anyways).
but other than that, i definetly dont want something brittle.. one good enough bump with something and its screwed. ive been lookin at a few different lips. i love the type r ones.. but what do you think they would look like as black on my navy colored car? would that look stupid? im not one of those "tell her what she wants to hear kinda people" so if you think it would look frikkin stupid, then tell me that. lol.. anyways let me know.

Yeah, I think i saw that on 7thgh
Guy used home depot door weather stripping. it's really soft and pliable. it shud be softer than the OEM rubber lip
It's not bad for a cheap DIY mod

i like color matched lips personally. black means you just didnt want to spend the paint money
Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
if i had the $ to do what i wanted, my car would be a hell of a lot nicer than it is now. i could only imagine what i'd do with it. especially after lookin up a few that have blown my mind.. all u boys would be like ..

when i roll up.. hahaha
i got some good taste in cars ( i think so anyways) and i could make mine HOT if i had the $... buttttt i dont, so home depot garage door seal's for lips is where i am at right now.

Re: *CivicChick2001's Build/Car Thread*
RS lips looks cheap whether or not they're painted, they fit like the ebay junk they are.
A garage door/weather stripping/garden edging/volvo lip looks just fine without paint, it's just a discrete little detail and it matches the black on your bumper. Why spend $200+ on a part that you may well rip off on a speed bump, when you can spend $15 and have it look almost as good.
You do realize that when you get out of the car people can see you, right?
