Thanks, I figured the non-si would go even faster than si since the final drive ratio is longer.

Wow, this thread gets so cluttered so easily.
Okay - I'm just about summer mode (stage 2
).. I feel like hitting up a meet/having one. Forecast looks like the weekend sucks donkeys with the rain, so I'm leaning towards going to Pincourt Monday night. Anyone feel like joining me in this trip? Or we could easily do another one mid-week or something - as weather looks to be fine. Any takers? Perhaps crashing the Julep Thursday night ?? You know you want to discuss this

Just got into an accident today
100% my fault
I rear-ended a Rav4 that stopped suddently... my front head is not good to see presently! Damages are more on the hood and the front grill, I hit the tire on the back. Nothing really difficult to repair.
Damn I never had an accident before, and now I am involved in 2 in less than 6 month... I hope they won't be a "jamais 2 sans 3!!!!". I am afraid of my insurance fee next year!!!
I'll try to take a pic before sending it for repair.

Sorry to hear that redviking. Trust me in that fact that I know the feeling of close time-span accidents, and it sucks. Hopefully your insurance doesn't rape you, but I fear its doubtful

The evaluator from the insurance compagny just came to check the car... ouch! more damage than expected!
- New hood + attach
- Paint job for: Bumper, front grill, left fender
- New H for the grill
- New radiator support
- New driver headlight assembly
- Polish the scratch on the passenger headlight if it's not working = New one!
- New hood deflector
I was not expecting the headlights! But, there is one positive thing: I will keep the old headlight assemblies.
The driver one, they are changing it because a plastic clip is broken under the hood (who care?); the passenger one, we will see maybe they will change it too!
Waht do we do with a spare set of headlights??? Yes sir: Blacked-out headlight set on the way!!!
!!!!! It's so hot on a 2004!
I also kept the old H that was on the grill, he is just a little bit broken. I will try to repair it and paint it. Blue like the car? Black? (another color than OEM chrome)... It can be cool...
What do you think of a hood deflector? Should a get a new one, or just take the cash for it? It was first installed by the dealer. I removed it last summer and I re-installed it last week to see the look... now it's broken!
Well, I am trying to see some positive in this incident!

Many will probably say to not use/have it - as it looks bad, and/or can cause some color distortion (doesn't fade the paint as much underneath it. In all honestly, you'll probably regret not having it like I do as the rock chips are
Also, for the clip - it probably is like my set .. they still work, but their alignment is not right anymore, as well as wobbling over bumps sometimes. Why I upgraded to my TYCs.

Course doesn't say how good my stock was, but well I don't care anymore
But I don't have anything to compare the ride with really, though I'd easily go down this upgrade path again.

Sorry don't know any places off-hand Redviking .. though I'm sure there'd be some. Perhaps just need to open a yellow-pages or something

Alright, anyone else deciding to hit up NSC http://www.nationalsportcompact.com/ this weekend?
I know I'm not on Saturday - as I'd be out of town.
As for Sunday, I might head over but honestly its Mother's day and might be busy throughout. Probably better as well to spend the $16 admission on other things - like jacked up flower prices

Sup everyone!
I'm looking for Neuspeed Springs + Strut Bar (btw, anyone has used to sell?)
I have a question: I want the race one but is it too low for snow during winter? anyone has tired? Is it feasible to keep Race Springs all year or pain in the *** during winter?
Also, If I take Sport Springs b/c race can't go in the snow, Do I really need a camber kit? It is just like 1.5" afterall...
Thanks,
Francois

Nice to see a past 7th gen member posting again on the site (and in here)

On island, the cheapest I found when I decided to buy my strut bar new was from RMR. Perhaps it can be found cheaper elsewhere now, but I do not know for certain. I don't know if anyone has the strut for sale - might be able to find it in the For Sale sections in the forum. As for the springs, in my opinion the race will be too low for winter. Its a 2" drop, and our roads are not that great for driving as it is. You'd probably be plowing a couple of streets in the least. Though then again, some people don't mind plowing roads so its your decision. On top of that, those that I've heard from with the race say its very stiff and a harsh ride. Good for circuit racing, but bad for daily driving. Are you looking for the performance aspects of the drop or not?
In truth, any drop should require a camber set as it will eventually get worse -but you can choose not to use one if you so desired.. If FaZe was looking at the camber stances of some of the Ottawa members on the Toronto trip, he can clearly tell you that they needed an alignment (plus camber kit). They are on Neuspeed Sports. Sure it wasn't all that bad, but it was evident.
By the way, what kind of car do you drive exactly?

Karim
Ok thanks,
So even if I only drop it for 1.5" I still need the camber kit.
I'll might order the full kit over the net (springs, camber kit and bar)... it probably be cheaper.
I have an 01 Civic Si.

Karumba, I saw you attended the Club Civic Québec north shore meet last week, enjoyed it? I wish I could have gone myself but I was out of the contry for the week.
How about a 7th gen. meet later this week?

As for being cheaper over the net, as long as you find a good deal and getting it shipped here is with the right company. Often times it sounds like a great deal, but then you get screwed with shipping expenses and on top of that duty, brokerage fees, and taxes. UPS is the worst for this, followed by FedEX, and the cheapest method but also the slowest is USPS. Might just want to price shop around the island (and possibly just off it (north and south shores - if you don't mind the small drive)) to find a decent price.

Yeah it was a good time. Nice seeing the turn-out of the group. Goes to show how deep CCQ is. Sure it probably would have been better of me to mingle more, but shyness + lack of confidence in my french => walking about listening in and inspecting the cars. Now as for a meet, sure thing - when and where?
Basically the one thing that prevents any sort of meet from being set-up. I know I'm more than flexible on the time and location, but that is not always the case for everyone. Like the first meet we did, we lost at least one due to the timing of the meet. The location probably wasn't the most centralized neither but maybe that could be changed. As goes to show with my Saturday trip to Toronto, I'm more than willing to meet up with people here

Dang, 4 door Sunfire? Thats harsh to ride in from a Civic .. but I'm sure it'll make you appreciate her that much more when you get her back
Car definitely looks clean SUPERFLY. Kinda surprised it still has the stock exhaust, but still very nice.
Hmms .. Friday could work, though if saying then why not say Thursday evening at the Julep? I personally have wanted to check out a Julep meeting and well it would kill two birds with one stone
