a DIY would be much aprpeciated. Once I get my spacer I am going to be so anxious to install it but the timing thing gets me.
We couldn't get the pulley off the car for anything. We bent two breaker bars and two half inch extensions before we gave up for the night. Then we just said screw it, we'll get someone else to do it since we couldn't find the special tool to hold the pulley still. On my way back home, my tire blows out and I crash my car into a ditch. Woot!
Tell me what you don't like about yourself....

Hey now, lol. We had so much torque going through it that we twisted the tip off two extensions, snap-on extensions at that. The car is fine besides the fenderwell being dented and I'm having to ride around with two different tire sets on it. Hopefully I get a new tire and this pulley put on today
.
There is a special tool for it, it looks like a breaker bar with a hex nut welded to it. We copied the page straight out of the honda service manual. We just couldn't find that dumb bar anywhere

LOL, I'm becoming more and more reluctant to do this install myself as the thread goes on. I'm one of those types of people that wants all this sh*t done to my car, but doesn't know any mechanics enough to trust alone with my car.

Just out of curiousity:
How difficult would it be to install an independant electrical system for your AC and other HP robbing systems in your car? I have seen DIYs on the internet with kits. They install a seperate alternator and a couple additional batteries. Is this probable in the 7thgen? Personally, I would be very interested in finding out how extensive the install would be if it is possible...an extra 20 hp gain from a single groove pulley while keeping an AC system just appeals to me. Has this been done? Results?

Well, supposedly, someone on here mentioned getting a single groove, forget who it was.....could have been neonimpact. He posted that he was getting single groove about 10 pages....take a look and ask him what status is...

just a question, I am getting the dual groove soon here whenever the spacers get finished but I was wondering if I could leave the power steering belt off and just put the ac belt that way I could be getting more power and have no powersteering? can I do this?
I have a MT. The pulley kept giving in, even with a 425lb Impact. Josh told us to jam a screwdriver into the flywheel, but we never tried that. The best we could do to keep it from moving was to have someone in the car put it into 5th gear and keep on the brakes.
Found a shop that's gonna do it for $20. I guess that's some of the perks of working in the automotive business, people go easy on you

Well, it's on there finally
. Revs a lot faster, and picks up a little better. Havn't really messed with my car much though, I'm about to go do some deliveries in a little bit so I'll probably follow up later or something

. kinda off topic. to put on the timing belts (not the pulley, just the belts) do you need to take off the front bumper? Or can it all be done by just taking off the driver side wheel, and the 2 push-pins from there?
I paid $20 for the install and I had the duel groove
. I raced an older model accord earlier today and got em on the start and stayed about a half car length ahead, before that thing would have beat me. I dunno if they were a crappy driver or what, but it was cool
