UPDATE: Dual-groove pulley INSTALLED!!!
Hey guys, I got a bit of bad news. Recently, I've heard some sound of something rubbing whenever i'd move my car from a stop, and in the lower rpms (1000-2500). I had a thought that it would be the dh-racing pulley rubbing on something, and today my intuitions were proven to be correct. I got the racing pulley taken out today, the mechanic showed me that the pulley was ACTUALLY FORCED INTO its place so it would stay. The shop that installed it just forced it in, so it ended up rubbing up on the crank pulley sensor just like Josh said it could. There is a groove on the pulley now from where it rubbed the sensor countless times, and the inner part of the pulley (the donut hole you can call it) has a 1-3 millimeter piece of metal sticking up kind of like this /\ around probably 1/4 or more of the circumference of the inner circle. To add to that, the rubbing of the pulley against the sensor has caused the sensor to crack, and I will be needing a new one soon. If anyone could help me in Southern California with finding a new crank pulley sensor I would greatly appreciate it
. What else, I will be going to the original shop tomorrow to show the owner the shoddy (sp?) installation that his shop provided, and to be quite honest, the second shop that took it out for me today told me that the pulley was a at a small angle, which meant that it could have been wobbling. I will probably ask the first shop to help me pay for a new sensor, and if they can't then I'll have to find a new one by myself. Hopefully, my car will hold up until then, luckily I can't feel anything wrong with it since the OEM crank pulley has been reinstalled. I just wanted to warn all of you 7thgeners of what could happen, and to just be careful. Please wait for those spacers if you even plan on getting the racing pulley installed. As for me I will be waiting a while before I get anymore stuff for my engine, and I will not jump on anything else that has not been proven or tested yet. I hope this helps you all who already have the pulley.
I want to end this by saying that I am NOT knocking on DH-Racing in any way. It was the shop that FORCED the pulley into its spot, and the 2nd shop mechanic even told me that he had to use ALOT of force to get the DH-Racing Pulley off. I have not lost faith in DH-Racing, but I will be waiting on other people to install their stuff and not be another guinea pig. I will try to post pics of the now damaged racing pulley ASAP. Be careful guys.

Go back to that shop and get your money back at least, and maybe the price of the pulley. They obviously do not know how to install pulleys. Even in the UR pulley instructions, it says DO NOT force the pulley on. Gosh are some mechanics just stupid?

Yeah. I had a feeling that shop was shady from the beginning. Bring them your ruined pulley and an estimate for the sensor. If they don't give back your money, call the cops and show em you're not fooling around. I would have no tolerance for something like that.

why can't you, dh-racing sell a single groove pulley and a electric power steering kit like the ep3's? their power steering is independent and is running on electric rather than the engine. JC if you guys would do something like that a kit or something.

The question that is bothering me is, why did the shop have to force the pulley on? Does this pulley fit? I mean only 2 of 20+ people have been able to get it to fit right? Just wondering.

hmm, well apparently i was the first of the group to try to put it on and realized the same problem. the crank bolt kept pulling the pulley closer and closer until it would hit the sensor. my question still is what is to keep this pulley spinning after time, i meen there is no key way so will tightening hold it on there enough to keep it moving? i would think after time the bind would slack off from vibration. anybody got an answer?

I'm really starting to think twice about this. I've got a multiamp system installed, and it also doesn't seem like the pulley was made to fit the car. The spacer doesn't sound like such a good fix, either. Won't that be even more of a problem in terms of balance?
So now the success rate is back to 0 for installs.

It's simple they angled his pulley when they put it on and then cranked it down with the bolt instead of pressing it flush and then tightening down hence crushing the sensor. Guys come on this pulley has been run on Dave's 700 HP 9 second car, I have it on my 220 wheel HP SINGLE Cam Right now, and Dave's all motor street car is running it and we have no issue. Do you realize what 3 thousandths of press on aluminum will do. Ask someone who has tried to take the pulley off it doesn't just slide off you have to use a pulley puller, it mates with the crank and will not come of. The pulley was designed for your motor, but the motor I had did not have a sensor on it so it was an honest mistake. The spacer fills the space on the timing gear so the pulley goes flush where it is supposed to, when 30+ people get the spacer and put it on and are happy then everyone will see.

Everyone is confused I think. Probably waiting for the spacer. I remember 30+ people buying this and only a few actually posting about it. Where is everyone?
