D15Z1 & D16Z6
Torque Sequence:
8 6 2 4 10
9 3 1 5 7
(front of car)
In 2 steps:
1. 22 lb-ft
2. 53 lb-ft
I did more than 2 steps. I went up in increments of about 10ft-lbs on the wrench. So I did so about 6 times.
For demonstrating the wrench "clicking," I didn't do that, since, already torqued.

We almost got it. 1995 Civic, bastard head job...
The other thread was over on a good note, may Kitty R.I.P. She was a good girl and never did anything bad. Good little cat.
Not to mess up that memory, here is the very latest, as of about an hour ago.
The hardest part is going to be the OTHER things for me, engine bay reassembly, timing, belt, crank pulley on not strong enough with my impact wrench, gonna need to maybe break a socket bumping the starter against a breaker bar to tighten it, and then START HER UP! (Flushing out everything.)

Re: First post! And.. issue. My 1995 Honda Civic..
Hello, all!
Firstly, let me say that Honda-Tech are JERKS.. Especially.. well, all of them on there. Unhelpful, rude, JERKS.. I will probably not return. And, of course, my car having issues.. so, here I am!
Ok.
So.. my introduction! Happy to be here. You may call me Joseph, Wild Cranker, WC.. What you like.
My car is a 1995 Honda Civic. 2-door Canada model with sunroof.. EJ1, as the jerks at HT used to obsess over. Unknown head.. I heard "P2J" mentioned. I will post up some pics. Operating from my phone right now. I have a D15Z1 block. High miles, and messed with before I got it.
Issue is that it will "crank and not start." I have the distributor cap off right now, since it appears it will not start by itself. Full tank of gas. Today, it would start and die. Then it started and ran.. stalled in traffic after about a half hour. Then started up after about 15 minutes.. now it just cranks and wont start.
I changed spark plug wires; have it wired correct sequence I believe.
I have a test light and multimeter. I dont see any blown fuses. Main relay seems to be in its usual spot.
Car just turns turns turns and doesnt sound like it wants to catch at all. STARTING FLUID DID NOT APPEAR TO START IT so while I have fuel suspicions, I started the spark route.
I will post pics of my ride but im stuck, and have to get to work tomorrow night.. somehow.
My first post.. and I am happy to be here!

I will make a video of what it is doing...

I will make a video of what it is doing...
Lower Timing Cover? On.
UPPER timing cover? On.
Valve cover? On.
Crank Pulley? On. (Used Woodruff key, had weird thing behind it, piece)
Crank Pulley bolt? On. (Used Impact Gun)
Sooo.. Now, can I put the tire back on? (Belts cab be put on with a tire on, right?)

You might want to double check torque on that with a real torque wrench.

I got the Valve Cover off the Honda. I want to nip this "Zero compression" nonsense in the bud, before firing it up.
All the components are technically in place..
I got the top engine wheel with the word UP at the 3 o'clock position

Video from post 320....waaaay too much oil for a wet test.
At 3:26 you declare cylinder #3, that's not 3 it is #2.
Cylinders are numbered in numerical order from 1 to 4.
1, 2, 3, 4.
#1 is closest to the belts. #4 is furthest away from the belts.
Firing order is a completely different thing from cylinder order.
At any rate, I'd put the dead cylinders' piston at TDC with valves closed and apply air pressure to the dead hole and see where the air is leaking out...intake manifold or exhaust manifold. Then figure out if it's just tight adjustment or if it has bent valve(s).

It just started with starting fluid, too.
Firstly, I watched this..
But, in the meantime, I did this:

Sounds like ****. Reconnect the #2 plug wire and try it?
Does #2 have compression yet?
