Re: Ktuner and the D17
LSD block for a d16 does not fit a d17 tranny....
I will be putting my lathe skills to the test this week cutting the differential gears down so everything will fit.
Man, nothing is ever easy with this 7gen...lol

Lookin good with the wheels setup.
It will be interesting to see if the LSD works with the machining you are doing with the differential gears.
Re: Ktuner and the D17

Oh, yeah, you might have gotten the PM, we are reviewing structures in the forums, so some of your threads are being moved to other sections. Let us know if you have issues with that.
your build involves several different areas in engine work, do you prefer it to be at the root of engine performance?

Re: Ktuner and the D17
I feel like my D17 is becoming a D16 with each and every mod.
So last night i cut off the throttle body flange of my D16y8 intake manifold and started porting the opening from the stock opening to 70mm.
I cut the flange off because it didn't look like there was enough material for a 70mm hole.
I made a replacement aluminum flange that will accept a 70mm D series TB...now i have to rewire the TB sensor to accept the old version.
I have a buddy who is going to tig weld everything back up. I'll post up pictures tomorrow.

Re: Ktuner and the D17
Not enough space to tig the whole outside so we did the whole inside and about 1/2 of the outside.
Used jb weld for the outside and as it was drying, i sprinkled grindings on the jb weld. My theory is it will help strengthen the bond but also makes it look nicer...

Stock everything can handle it and KTuner included basemaps to adjust the wastegate for extra boost and fuel maps to accommodate.

Re: Ktuner and the D17
sidenote: the tunerview app for smartphones is awesome (only $5) , assuming the KTuner board you have installed has bluetooth connectivity.
