I don't even think the garage kept the oem manifold - as I told you when you were asking about the exhaust piping. But I didn't stick with that first header system purchased as there was an exhaust leak between the header and resonator .. seeing as I didn't want to be without a vechile too long I went another route. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a refund, only an exchange, so I was going to get stuck with another header system.

After a long delay in getting the item back, over two months, its back in my hands and well useless to me because I'm not going to be installing it over the system I'm currently running.

Currently running a HP shorty header and a Random Tech hi-flow cat - with O2 wire extended for the rear bung versus the HP H26 full header and downpipe plus O2 simulator ; though I imagine since I had the wiring extended that I could get around not using the simulator but still.. I am not going to change it again. Though I do believe that the H26 system gets a lot more responsive in the higher rpm range than the current one.

I,m not sure if i follow you...It's just a header right? Is it legal to have that or it just when you don't have a catalitic... that your illegal?

How much does it cost that H26?

It's illegal to remove the cat. If you have a header and still have a cat it's okay. Unless you are making to much noise! The problem with DX/LX is that the cat is in the exhaust manifold, so if you put a header you remove the cat... you need to custom fit one to stay legal or do as Karumba.

The header Karumba will (eventually) sell is made for the Si (EX in US). So it's the header + a downpipe (without cat) to replace the OEM one that have the cat on it (#4 on the 2nd pic).

So for your car, you will need then to buy a aftermarket (or OEM) exhaust for a SI to make it fit (you could also cut your OEM system and custom fit it!). Keep in mind that if you increase the size of the piping in front it's good to increase it all the way, for maximal gain...

I was planning to buy a similar set-up for myself and install a high-flow cat in the downpipe (to stay legal)... But I finally bought Jamie's header, so I'll need to custom fit a high-flow cat between the header and the RSX-S exhaust I want to install. The end result is the same anyway!

For the DX/LX trim, there is some HPs waiting to be released when removing the OEM manifold/cat combo! I guess Karumba can confirm that .

You are talking about putting an aftermarket EX header onto a DX/LX here... as technically you can put an aftermarket DX/LX header (Kamikaze) and not have any true issues.

The differences between EX and DX/LX is the fact that the catalytic converter is changed locations (as well as the length of wiring for the O2 sensors) and how the piping connects through completely. In the DX/LX applications, you can see with the image below that the catalytic converter is in the header portion:

Whereas in the EX application, it is located in the downpipe.

The H26 set-up is everything pictured below before the sway bar. As Redviking stated, it is made for an EX model.

It technically removes the catalytic converter as the "cat" on this header is moreso a resonator than anything else.

Removing the catalytic converter (or in my case) going to a high-flow one helps any system out really in my opinion.. it breathes a lot easier so top-end feels more responsive.. sure you may lose bottom-end but

Well the header sells for 280$ US + shipping + duties .. all said and told, I think I'd be happy with to get back 350$ CAD for my troubles. Troubles being the initial shipment and duty charges plus the return shipment and the small return duty cost, but we'll see how things go and all..

Just by curiosity, what is the outlet size of the header you have? And what is the size of your High-flow cat?

My Kamikaze header is 2.25" so I was looking for a 2.25" high-flow cat, but I was suggested to go to 2.5"...

I paid my 2002 RSX-S OEM Cat-Back 75$ (used less than a year), but I think it was a very good deal! So expect to pay a little bit more.

Would it do the same? Depends on what you are looking for! Me I was looking for some gains but with an OEM sound and OEM look (or at least not too flashy) and with minimal $$$. But it still look really sexy on a sedan! It has a 2.5" tips. The piping is between near 2" to 2.25", so way better than the civic 1 5/8". But as pointed by Karumba, it's the cat that is doing the restriction. So I think the size is perfect.

If you can find a 2005 RSX-S exhaust it will be even better, the exhaust is the same as the RSX typeR, it has a special valve inside that opens at higher rpms to increase exhaust flow. But expect to pay more for it, and it's difficult to find locally!

It's not a direct bolt-on, you will need to add a few inches at the back to reach your rear bumper, use longer hangers, and since the RSX is shorter, you need to add some lenght up front. But any good shop will do it easily!

believe it is the same outlet of 2.25" but well don't quote me .. as for the cat ... umm well .. either .. not sure.. I know its all bolted up now so I don't care Though I can tell you that the piping of the WS2 is 2.5" if that matters with the tip being 4"

full line meaning header all the way back or just parts of it? Honestly depends how much you want to spend as there are different parts available.. If you want a full catback exhaust, Viper in Ottawa is selling his Magnaflow dirt cheap .. Could also look towards FaZe for his Kamikaze header - as I still believe he is going through with his upgrade plans next spring/summer...

I am starting to have some issues with my manual transmission. I sometime have difficulty to shift in first or second gear when the car is cold and when the weather is cold outside.

I was first affraid that this problem was due to my short shifter adaptor But, from what I read on the forum it seems to be a common problem with 2001+ tranny. I am afraid that if I go to the dealer they will say it's because of my short shifter... if I remove it before going, it's still apparent that I had used one... I just hope that it's just a lubrification problem (transmission oil + shifter cable bushing), like some members noticed.

Anybody else with a manual had/have this problem?

Canuck Motorsports sounds like a knock-off seller from eBay that is trying to go "bigger".

Won't guarantee everything lasts, but guess its cheap enough to try out..

Have you found more info on them??? Or it's just a guess?

People from car club on the west coast seems to like them... On the other hand, on Clubcivicquebec.com, they say it's not good quality , but nobody seems to have try them

Well, my car look very stock. A blue 4 doors with black steelies for winter! I only have subtil mods: I shaved my emblems (still have the "H"); you can see my rear lower tie-bar (it's chrome); and I have black mesh grill in my front lower bumper... So good luck to recognize it!

Well at least it lets us know you were actually in town .. yeah it was fun for sure. I left the gym and was heading home cursing having to wake up tomorrow to go to work with it. Though Monday morning was only bad on side roads thankfully.

Yeah I drive around the city spying on you guy.... But I prefer when it's a cute chiks driving...

Seriously when I see a 7thgen with some mods, I check to see if it's someone I know... Yesterday, when I saw a silver 4 doors with Altezzas and Hondaground stickers that was slowing down the traffic, I was begining to figure it out... and after seing the projector up front in my rear mirror... I realized who it was...

The tie-bar was to stiffen the chassis for my sway-bar. So it's not noticeable... however the sway bar made a huge difference! The tie-bar is recommanded for earlier 7thgen.
