manual for sure, i have an 04 coupe manual, and my car was in the shop, and they gave me an 04 lx 4dr auto, it was boring. Since it wasn't my car though, it was fun to drive it hard all the time.
automatic sedan here, never wanted an automatic, boring as hell, plus i feel ihave more control over my driving with a stick. wheni bought it i told them stick stick stick stick stick, the trans was blown in my t-bird needed something quick, they said this is all we have to offer u. when i take it back in another year or so, im getting an ex stick if possible
Wow, this thread's been around forever! I had a 92 Auto before and I hated it. The more I drive, the more I wanna drive and I hated that I didn't get all that shift action. Now that I've got my '05 LXG I get the full driving experience that I was looking for. Its not great on power, but its comfortable and zippy.

If anything I'd say it's more important to have a manual in a car with less power, since you have less powertrain loss. You need every horse you can get, and you don't have to worry about the tranny shifting too early when accelerating.

well, i live in a big city and driving through the traffic in a manual is a pita. The only way it would be worth it is it the car was fast. an ex manual would still be slow and thus not worth the effort of shifting. Yes, you might lose a few horsies, but its not like youre going to be racing an ex anyway, unless you are a ricer.

I can see how some people would prefer to drive a car with an A/T in the city. I've been driving automatics for too long; since I got my civic (manual) I haven't been able to enjoy a car with an automatic. I find the transmission sooo easy to use that it doesn't bother me, even in heavy traffic. I enjoy the extra control and involvement in the driving experience. And no, I do not race.
thinking about it now, I do a lot of city driving in Philadelphia daily and I never get tired of manual even in the city. Maybe it's 'cause I'm young though, who knows. Maybe when I'm 40 or so I'll get tired of it.

even the ex are slow it still drives awesome on a manual.
Stick
I drove an '83 Buick Century for a year, constantly bugging my dad to let me get a 7th gen civic with a stick. Finally a year later, he lets me shell out the money i have (he's helping a bit) to get a 2003 Ex Coupe. I wouldn't trade my stick for anything. Girls think it's sexy too.
I learned to drive stick on my own with my 04 last year in June. Everything is diferent from A/T. I love manual now and don't think I'll ever change back to auto. Manual is simply far more responsiveand and enjoyable than auto..

I learned to drive a stick when I picked up my car from the dealer, across town from my house, and in afternoon rushhour traffic. It was a little dauting, but I was perfectly fine after a few hours of seat time.
