Manual vs Auto
Re: Manual vs Auto
Manual = Fun, Speed, Cheaper maintenance, Keeps you focused, Faster, More modifying options, Great skill to know, Not everyone can drive one.
Only Con is in Stop & Go traffic which can get irritating.

Re: Manual vs Auto
I have a manual, the auto is pretty weak
. Kinda surprised that Honda can such a smooth, fun manual, yet their auto is so blah. Doesn't even have manu-matic like my girl's Jetta. At least in that thing I can pretend I have some control. Oh well, I will drive a manual until someone can make an auto that I can't live without and can afford.
Re: Manual vs Auto
I own a 04 civic Hybrid, manual, as a daily driver. I also own a 07 S2K, which is a 6spd, I love manuals, whether its a daily commute or dropping the top on a gorgeous sunny day. The only down side to driving a manual is that when i am in the S2K with my lady i can't hold her hand, but if its one of those night we are usually in her car anyways, which is a 2010 TL. I guess there really isn't any down side to a manual, especially if you are a driving enthusiast. Manual all the way!
Re: Manual vs Auto
Nonsense, execute the lefthand shift. Gets major brownie points with the GF, since I show how much I want to hold her hand. Give no ground to the automatics of the world! Having a 4 door manual option is reason #1 I went with the Civic.
Re: Manual vs Auto
WTF are you guys talking about - holding your girfriends hands! Auto's only benefit is you dont have to try and reach around your girlfriends head to switch gears! haha holding hands
Re: Manual vs Auto
i have an auto-tran....and it is just as fast as the sticks...yea its not as sporty but it gets the job done..plus it helps to have a full exhaust sytem tho..i got 4-2-1 headers high flo cat with full cat-back exhaust...and i love the lil-extra it gives me....
Re: Manual vs Auto
stick...passed up a 2000 Accord SE 4cyl auto with like 12K miles on it...went for the 2005 Civic LX base model 5 speed...with 50K on it. i think i like this car more
would not leave the dealership without a 5 speed in my hand
would not leave the dealership without a 5 speed in my hand that part of the reason why i want a manual. lol. my automatic is so boring and i hate no having control of when i shift gears. I think in about 8 mionths or so when i finally get enough money ill drop a B18C into my 2000 civic ex ill switch it over to manual. Anybody know what is the best place to order a JDM import engine from. Ive heard mixed reviews from all different places and dont want to get a P.O.S. engine.

Re: Manual vs Auto
Manual on my 8th gen civic and I never regreted it (except the first day because that's when I learned...) - but honestly, it's easy to learn and it becomes second nature in a very short span of time. I really don't see a point to driving automatic (except when a manual is really not an option i.e. certain disabilities, super-fear of manual, etc.) but other than that, if you're sitting on the fence about it, just go manual and you will not regret it - the same can't be said about automatic! Cheers!
