Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
Yes, lol
When I ran the projector hi-beam by itself, the light output was rather disappointing, so I wanted the halogens on as well. But it would be a waste of the bi-xenon feature if I left that disconnected, not to mention, HIDs are not designed to be rapidly turned on and off like when your'e highway driving and toggling the hi-beams, so leaving them on at all times is better for their life span.
And it was a pretty stupid movie, don't watch it, lol

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
Been running the HIDs for a little over a week now and so far they're absolutely great!
...except for one small and annoying little problem.
Occasionally when I turn the lights on, the driver's side HID will not stay on more than a second. If I turn the lights back off and on again, they both light up just fine. Is that a common issue?
I've double checked the wiring and all looks good and everything is still brand new essentially. I'm wondering if it might be an issue with the ballast not firing with enough power on start up because I've noticed that letting my car idle for a minute and build charge lets the light turn on with the first try.
Ideas? It's not a dramatic issue, but it's kinda weird...

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I checked the ballasts for weird sounds, but found nothing unusual, just the standard low buzzing noise.
Now I'm starting to think that temperature is a factor here.
I've only been experiencing the problem for the last few days which have all been about 20°f outside. Before that is was about 45° when I installed the lights. The lights started up just fine today when the car was sitting in the garage that is almost 50°. Is it possible that cold weather can make it act funny?

Well, electric might not be around for a couple months, but you can always make your own.
Ebay sells wire by the foot, like $1~2 per foot.
Just grab like 5ft. and buy some terminals and go to town.

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
My experience with wiring is absolutely zero.
If I just "go to town" with those materials I would probably make some kind of spaghetti sculpture and melt it to my kitchen table as a center piece.

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
Actually, now that I think of it...
I want to redo my Big 3 as well.
Maybe if you're willing to pay for the materials, I'd make one and send one over for ya as well.
Electric charges $30 shipped for his set, sounds reasonable. Though, mine probably won't be as awesome as his, but it'll work. And I'm gonna run 2 gauge ground wire instead of his 4.
Something to consider.

Wire is wire.
It's strands of copper wrapped in plastic lol.
And being the ground so short, it's not a huge deal if it's not absolutely best quality.

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I bought a Monster power wire kit for my subs but then bought a cheapo kit for my speaker amp....the difference is actually shocking. The cheapo kit was supposedly 4awg but almost had less wire than my 8awg Monster kit. And the wire in the cheapo kit was really brittle and flaky. Just a heads up!

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
True,
The wire size itself and shielding is different on higher quality.
But the ones i'm getting are pretty decent.

Okay!
I'll consider it!
Sorry for so many demanding questions... consider me uninformed....
What are the advantages fo the Big3 upgrade?
What will you expect the cost of materials to be?

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
It provides better throughput for electricity.
Making all the electricals in your car better.
$30 will cover the materials and shipping.
It's the same price electric charges.
Not doing it for profit, but it'll cover my big3 cost too :P

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I'm not too impatient.
Besides, I don't think it'll make any noticeable differences in my car.
Does the SE already have beefier wiring for the stereo?
Also, a guide or detailed picture of where these 3 wires are located would be greatly appreciated, lol
