Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I almost got the ebay header, but needed the cash for something more important.
(lol @ inspections. We like never get those here.)
Now, if I can get my parents off my back, I might be picking up another car here pretty soon. Just need to find a place to store it... for uhhhhh.... free... haha

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
Let's just say it's some classic JDM. And not too common these days. Not exceptionally fast either, but it has potential.

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I really like your build. Normally not a huge fan of 7th Gens, but yours is exceptionally nice.
I also thought I'd offer a little insight on your suspension issue.
Tein coilovers (especially the Basis and SS) aren't designed to slam a car, they are more comfort based. They are also, a "threaded sleeve" design, because the more you lower the car, the more the shock is compressed. This will cause the suspension to become bouncier the lower you go, because you have less shock travel.
If you want something that will allow you to go lower, look into Function&Form Type 1s or 2s, KSports or D2s. They are a "threaded body" design meaning when lowering the car, you actually do not adjust the spring perch or pre-load. You lower the car by adjusting the outer threaded body of the shock casing. This design allows you to keep the same amount of shock travel, no matter the height. Also, these coilovers allow you to lower the car to almost undriveable ride heights.

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
Thanks! I'm in no market for new coilovers though, especially since these aren't very old...
I actually raised the back a bit more, just enough to get a bit of preload on the springs because I didn't like the bounciness of it. The front is still surprisingly stiff, so I think I might try removing the lower collar for an extra 1/4" of drop. After all, I don't see a point in having a jam nut when you're completely out of threads.
The only bad part is having to remove the entire struts everytime you wanted to add/remove the collar... I guess I could always be ghetto and use a hose clamp as a lower collar, lol

Re: My EM2 - EX SE Build
I never joined this forum with the intent of having a build thread that's 12 pages long and full of random jibber jabber...
I guess that means I need to update my car some more, lol
