its like a high pitch buzz at first but you can barely hear it after they warm up.. you need to really listen for it.

Mine makes a noticeable buzzing noise after the start up, but I guess thats normal for higher wattage systems. I know the lexus koito d4s system makes a loud buzzing noise too.

yea all ballasts make a constant buzz, usually it will start to go away once they warm up (or at least not loud enough to hear). if the hood is closed and engine is running, i doubt you will hear anything.

Yeah I noticed the buzzing noise when I had the engine off. The buzzing noise if definitely louder than my old ballast though.

I wonder if I aimed them lower if more of the light in the foreground would actually hit the ground lol. Sorry for the crappy cell phone picture

the older step cutoff. there is really little to no difference. the "ece" slope cutoff is just a bit more slanted, it is not any higher than the dot step slope. the actual projector is the same, just a slightly different shape and color.

For ten bucks at home depot they make this light you can wear on a band around your head and it is really really bright. You can also use a red color wich is good in the dark also. That will help with the winter modding outside. While I was there tonight I just was wondering if they sold a philips head driver that was shaped like an alan key that could actually fit enough to aim the lights without tearing the front end off, so I could use the wall at work

a trick i use is the housing mount bolts. you can loosen the top bolt and push the headamp a little up or down and tighten the bolt while holding it. if you undo all the bolts, you can jiggle it to fit even better. ive moved it up/down at least an inch.

offset screwdriver. The one I got i couldnt quite get in there. I thought about drilling access holes, but I dont know how that would do with the strength of that support that is actually in the way. Like I said though when I had the TYC headlamp off the car and tilted a bit the cut off looked picture perfect...i just don't know if gearbox's method would be enough to actually produce that again while on the car. Hey gear, what are the easiest projectors to retro into these? Would I need more than a weekend? Like if I started friday night and worked on it all damn night and all day saturday could it actually be done?

in tyc? it would be the valeo d2s which comes on most audi. they will fit in without any cutting of the housing, but you will not be able to adjust them since there is no space. you just gotta stuff it in, and make sure they are aimed before doing all the sealing with bolts and silicone. then when they are on the car, you only get a small adjustment by moving the whole housing a little and then tightening the bolts. so you would have to test it on the car, or at least get the aim good now, then when you take the lights off, go find a good reference point in your house and make sure the aim of the new projectors is the same. its easy to test projectors using a bright led flashlight shining through the bulb hole.
