well im in texas all next week, then i need to find a job lol. so prolly not for a while. it wont matter cause theres no way to work on the car in this -2 degree weather. but yeah i should have the parts fairly soon (tomorrow)? i hope before i leave. i still waiting on the tl projectors and lenses, the most important ones lol. and i gotta take pics of those first, then think how to mount them in the reflector. i was thinking use hole saw and then screws plus silicone to attach projector. somehow getting the aim close too...and making shroud fit.

hey gearbox, do u think having the DL50w running on 50w ballast is THAT MUCH brighter than running regular philips 35w on 50w ballast?
Re: HID in TYC setup. With no projector conversion. Video on pg 17.
It depends on what you mean by "pure white". Regardless of whether they're ebay or oem, 4300k will have a yellowish look to it, but it is still white. When you jump up to 5000k it is also white, however the white is more of a bluish white.

um YES lol. go look at the pics again. but even just running boosted 35w bulbs is still a very good improvement over stock setup. its just that the 50w is even more.

there is a bit of yellow tint to brand new hid bulbs, whether in car or on the street. this is compared to aged hid. when compared to halogen, the hid is still much much whiter. here are the specs for the DL50 bulbs.
lumens: 5300! omg
wattage: 50
life hours: 3000
kelvin: 3900K
CRI 75
civicrida15, as youre deciding or finding money, you could get the catz zeta ballasts from ebay for the stock halogens. its only around $80 and it makes the halogens alot brighter. runs them at 15v+ instead of 13-14v. i have them now and its a noticable difference. i will be switching them to my halogen fogs as soon as i finish this hid retro for the main light.

i guess it's a matter of personal perception then because i've never felt mine were yellow. even a slight bit. somewhere at HID Planet, i posted pics of the 85122+'s when they were brand new and i didn't think they were even slightly yellow.

look i made another graph. its bulb life and lumen decrease. at 1500 hrs, you lost 1000 lumens per bulb. by 3000 hrs, you are down to a stock halogen setup

but its 2400lm of unfocused shattered light.
if you saw a 3200lm of focused light, youd understand what he's getting at.
betttter yet 4300+ Lm of focused boosted light...

ya its matsu, the kit ballasts are just generic but they look nice i guess ha.
okay how about this, boosted halogens at 2000 lumen with correct focal point, or 6000k hid at 2400 lumen with bad focal point. hmm

no, you want a step cutoff (not flat) so you get more light on the right side.

i kinda doubt it. fogs dont have alot of reach. its not designed for headlights.

nope. gearbox pretty much summed it up. the projectors i have for fogs are a straight cutoff, but more importantly, they're focused for wide, short beam rather than for distance. plus having a PNP kit running along side an OEM setup, the OEM is A LOT brigther. i was noticing this yesterday morning when i left for work and i had just my fogs on as i backed out of the driveway. i'm tempted to mod my fogs to put D2S bulbs in there so i can run some OEM Philips bulbs. the PNP bulbs just aren't as bright as OEM bulbs (at least for me).

Re: HID in TYC setup. With no projector conversion. Video on pg 17.
here's a pic i found when i had installed my fogs, but the headlights were still stock halogens. actually, those are Sylvania Silver Star bulbs in the low beams!
but this is to give you an idea of what 4300k HID's look like compared to stock halogens. now, i say again, 4300k HID has no yellow to it.
