Mike (Pharoh)!!! It fits all you guys perfectly, you were right! It is truly flippin' awesome, Oh, did I mention that already?, sorry, baby!
tekgnosis-here is my two cents on your situation. BTW-I'm sorry, that really sucks! Okay-option 2 is NOT an option, so, lose that one! You have a NBP based on your profile so you are sort of in luck for an SSM like mine is SO difficult to repaint anything on it for it is metallic and has no pigment, been there, done that! Anyway, here is what you do-do option one first for it might actually work as long as you do it correctly and besides, it is the cheaper option. The correct way to do it is apply/buff and apply/buff again. We have done this on a couple of my friend's NBP and you honestly could not tell it was in a similiar situation like yours. Now, if you are not happy with those results then you will have to have professionals do it for you and I seriously do not think anyone will ever know it happened to you unless you tell them.
Whatever you decide, GOOD LUCK WITH IT!

RBABE: not sure if you'll be checking this thread or not, but I appreciate your help!
I might see if a friend can come over and help me do a WHACK load of touching up.
honestly, it's everywhere. I can't begin to explain how many small chips out of the paint I have
it's so frustrating!!! ggggrrrrrr
hopefully the touch-up will work decently enough.
I don't want to touch it up just yet, though, because I filed a police report, and they may come to check it out. If they find there is sufficient damage to warrant a further investigation, then he will be held liable. that's what I'm hoping for!
but...I don't really wanna let the paint chips sit
fek. what to do what to do
---
on an up note: my coils were officially shipped yesterday! no update on my seats...they're still in windsor, and probably on their way to ottawa today.
the coils were shipped into the mainland of BC as of 11pm last night, and were shipped "standard". so...they'll be here in a week!
or two...you never know with UPS. they're a bunch of retards.
anyways, I'll try to keep looking on the up-side of things. fek. so frustrating

Tek : That really is not cool man. If the cops don't do anything.............we will!!!!! Do you still know the plate #. If yes, I'm sure we can track him down.
Freddy : Looking good man, I got the first 3(*****) done last night. I gotta do the other 3 tonight hopefully. I see what you mean about the VERY small area on the left with the roof control.....it's really tight.
I gotta say, it was alot easier watching the 'test monkey' first. now I know what goes where!!!!
Pharoh : Looks sweet dude. The '7' looks good. If you do one with stitches(gotta do stitches) I know I would love it!!!!!
Player : Now you gots the RAGE man!!!! WOW.
Everyone else : Hey...how y'all doin'??? Friday is just around the corner!!!

tek-You are more than welcome! Yeah,' you do have to wait and see if HE will be held responsible for this! Did the cops give you any kind of a time frame so you would know how long your vic has got to stay this way? Yeah,' I know that is a pretty funny one that the cops would actually give you a time frame, but, it wouldn't hurt to ask?! That way you would know when to do your bang-up WHACK job w/friend!
I know where I live, he would not be held responsible for it would be considered the hazards of driving. He would only be responsible if he was criminally driving and he might of been in your case? Anyway, my last friend who had an NBP vic got nailed by a lot of small rocks by a passing car on his OEM front lip kit and it looked like a black and red spotted Dalmation, is that what yours looks like? If not, that is what it will look like just so you know! This was on almost his entire front lip and looked BAD! You really don't want the paint chips to sit for they will get worse so see if you can get a time frame from the cops so you will know right when you will have to do a little paint action yourself if that is the case and delay them from growing in front of your eyes! I know it is hella stressful and frustrating, but, don't even sweat it for you seem like a sharp guy and will firgure it out properly!

RBABE: The person who took my complaint said that because there was damage involved, the cops will probably get back to me within one to two days.
If they can corroborate my story (I have a witness -- my GF was in the car with me), then they might pursue it further. but, basically, if they don't get back to me by tomorrow night, I'll just see if I can buy some more paint sticks from the dealer on sat morning, and go to town on the paint
The front lip has some marks, as does the bumper, the hood, the side quarter panels on both sides, the roof, the doors, the side trim (the things that try to stop you from getting door dings, but never work), and the trunk lid.
essentially, the only thing NOT damaged was the rear bumper.
I'm not 100% sure, but if they investigate and see his tire marks, they might be able to charge him with wreckless driving.
The exit lane's left line had turned from white to yellow, and when he swerved, he went into the fast lane a little bit, and almost SMOKED a big wooden pole with a highway sign on it (it was in the gravel he rode across).
ack. so frustrating
I'm glad you managed to fix this up with a friends car, though. It gives me hope
my front lip and bumper actually turned white/silver where the paint had chipped off. it sucks.
the rest of the chips are basically down to the bare metal of the car
fek.
anywho, thanks again for the tips...I'm not the greatest at touching up paint (I seem to overfill the holes), but hopefully I can fix these and not have my car look like it's been through hell and back!

if it doesn't work out, i'll make sure to go and throw a shitload of rocks at the d00d's car.
or just key the hell out of it.
man, SO frustrating!
oh, and I got his plates so I can easily find out where he lives. It just costs a couple bucks to do it.
gotta love 'public' records

tek-that is a good plan of action! Here is my tip for when I did my own and friend's vics. Mine was down to the metal as well, YIKES! First off, your heart about stops for your scared as **** to mess it up more and bent six different ways because it is there in the first place! So, push all that aside the best you can and do it. It is really not that bad, and, oh the relief when you CAN't at all see one of them anymore is worth it. I would get too excited and use too much which is okay, just give it a minute to set and buff and repeat. Quite honestly, yours might be too much damage for you to do it, but, professionals can take care of your work if need be as a last resort. Again, it is soo much cheaper to do it yourself for I'm sure you are like me and want to spend more money on mods rather at a paint shop because some careless idiot messed your vic up, right? So, try the touch up paint after you have waited your one or two days. If you are not happy with it, contact cops to see if anything further has been done with your case and then proceed to GOOD paint shop. Of course, keep your receipt and take BEFORE pics. It seems to me that he IS crimanally responsible and SHOULD have to pay up. But, you never know! If you end up at the paint shop and have your receipt and Before and after pics, you can always file a civil suit against him since you know who he is and you would mos def win that one! You can file a civil suit against him there, right? It costs next to nothing to file one and may be worth it if the cops do nothing and you have this huge bill from the paint shop that you had nothing to do with in the first place for you didn't put your paint chips there! If all else fails, a white and silver Dalmation looking vic is sexy!
It was a joke damn it, laugh! Again, GOOD LUCK, but, you won't need it!
Array-GOT BASS? I'm so playin' with you! Believe me, when I have to go without my solid sound and full body massage, I get bent sideways as all hell! So, I'm with you on that one!
Freddy-BEAUTIFUL BLUE!!! I'm so jealous for that was gonna be one of my next projects for my vic because it would of been matching perfect with my blue/purple illuminated deck. But, I'm not doing a single thing to my vic again for I'm moving soon and my vic stays here with someone else! Oh well, I'll look at your pics and lust!

RBABE: civil suit...good call.
I'm not sure what we have around here that is equivalent to that, but the worst case scenario is that I have to take him to small claims court to get him to pay for my repairs.
The problem with taking pics is that the paint is super-reflective, so all that shows up is the camera in the reflection, or the flash if I use it
it sucks.
anybody got tips of how to take close up pics? have you done it RBABE?
If I can keep a record of all the chips, and file it for safe keeping, I think I'd be able to justify the paint job to the next owner of my vic. I don't want to get a paint job, because it instantly kills the value of your car
well, unless it's an uber-pimp paint job, which I'd rather not get. I prefer the mild/clean look myself.
dang man, this really sucks.
ah well...you win some, you lose some.

i will ask u about the procedure on friday.
as for you tek, i feel your pain, i did something even worst last week, i made a wide u turn and scraped the hell outta my left wheel and the hud cap, not it is all dent and **** looks really bad, i think i am gonna take it off and ham it back into shape, plus i dont look for sratches anymore in my car, ****in snow killed it this year, and my touch up paint jobs just suck.
but then again u have a black car not ssm like me, so it would be easier to cover up.

tek-stand on your head, don't use a flash, and make sure your car is in mid air, oh, and the sun has to be out and at a 43948 angle!
Okay, I be playin'! Don't use a flash, have it be daylight, and you kinda have to gauge the sun's angle so it won't be your flash, but, provide enough light as a replacement flash, make sense? Don't worry if it doesn't make sense for I usually try not to make sense!
Use a digital w/view on it if the cam hopefully has this option, get one that does so you can take pics and see them immediately. Try different close up and further back ones, try differnet angles and sun positions throughout the day. I have an SSM vic as I have already mentioned and needed to take pics of my vic after a car wash had damaged it and I live in one of the hottest places on earth where the sun blasts you like you wouldn't believe so I was out there in the summer of 2001 doing these pics and it took about half a day, but, I got them and got them good! The car wash paid up, even a little more for my time and being put out! The general manager of this car wash said I was his new definition of a woman filled with fury, I was ploite and professional, but, very direct and to the point on what he was going to do for me. He did what I wanted and right then and there because I can be a persistent little **** when need be. I took the pics for their insurance company so their insurance company would cut me a check to repair my baby! My vic was two days old when this happened and it was at a reputable hand car wash company. Oh well, she is perfect now and no one but me can tell it ever happened!

Ive tried touch up paint but i am to lazy for that....im gonna just get a new bumper!
freddy: congrats on the amazing lights. They look really sick. I really wanna do white LED's. It would be sick if i could get my guages to light up the same way, i could probably figure it out somehow. But youre look great!!
Array: you still have no bass?? thats been such a long time. Oh well at least they are fixing it for free. So did u do you're lights yet?? Yay u can help me with mine...holla

player: not a bad idea...what you doin tomorrow?
I've decided that I'm gonna take the day off to clean the heck out of the car, and try to take pics.
I also gotta cash in my motorbike license...still haven't gone to exchange the papers for my license.
plus, I'm pretty sure the seats are coming in tomorrow, so I wanna be around when they show up (but get my parents to pay for the duty - hehehehe).
thanks for all the help and tips RBABE. hopefully I can get this all fixed up.
sorry to hear about that happening on your second day with the car...that's nuts! I'd be soo pissed! then again, I road rage over anything and everything.
man, one time I was such a spazz that when I cut someone off by accident, I just instinctively gave her the finger and honked. woops.
man, I felt like an idiot. hehehehe ah well.

tek-not a prob.! Glad I could kinda help with tips and so on, anytime! Man, poor lady, YOU cut her off and give her the finger and honk?! Thank goodnees our OEM horns are cute and fuzzy and just say excuse me Mr., may I pass please when you get the chance?! I was once with a vic friend of mine in his vic and we got just about plowed right into and my friend used his air horn on him and this guy plowed himself into a tree! DAMN!!! It was funny, but, sad! The guy was not hurt and there was only minor damage to his car! But, it was funny, it took me forever to stop laughing even though it was kinda sad! Don't worry about the road rage, it happens to the best of us!
However, check yourself man, cool it down a little! Okay?
