Guys, my rides got this wierd "tick tick tick tick" sound. Now I know what my car sounded like a few days ago when it was idoling (sp) and its got a distinct tick tick tick. Sounds like tappits or something. possibly the valves need adjusting? I know last time I went to Honda the mechanic told me that my valves sounded more prominent then most other cars, but he told me not to worry about it. Well tonight this ticking sound started. And I'm affraid if I bring my car in they will tell me it's not covered under warranty(if there is anything wrong) b/c of the intake (possibly intake related?)

Now suppose it is my valves that need to be adjusted.. will they charge me for that or will they do this under warranty?

grrrr I hate wierd sounds


Any feedback would be greatly appreciated so that when I call them either tomorrow or the next, I'll know what I'm talking about

danarraaahhhhjlllioppooh: i really doubt ur intake would cause any problems....its just a tube....like if ur filter was falling off that would be a different story...just take off the intake when u bring it in if they hassle you!!!! be like "what intake?"

true, but I don't want to have to be bothered by taking the damed thing off every time I bring it in for servicing. I'll call them tomorrow and tell them I need them to adjust my valves under warranty earlier then expected. thats all. There isn't much labour to that if I'm correct. all they do is tighten them up.

Okay, your intake won't be a problem. It has nothing to do with the sound you're hearing. The only real way to void your powertrain warranty is to change the internals. Anything bolt on is fine. That's why the Vortech Supercharger is so popular on the 2000 SiR..because the whole thing is bolt on..he he he!

Sarah Fox works in my building and we go on all our smoke breaks together...She's such a cutie but has a b/f...too bad...
