Ok fellas. On Friday when I was at the dealership I got talking to my ex bro-in-law who's the sales manager. He told me that they have a hired a guy to dish with 7thGen owners about their cars, what they have done to them, where they get the parts, how much and general discusion about the car...ie: what you like and don't like, what could be different.
So naturally, I volunteered the team to go there and talk to them face to face. He mentioned getting a photographer to take pics of the rides in front of the dealership, pizza and whatever. So basically, we just go into a conference room and talk to these guys for a bit and get some valuable opportunities to speak our minds and help out Honda at the same time.
I for one am greatful that they want to spend the time to do this as it will help us as much as it will help them.
I would like to wait for Baller to return before we do this. My ex bro-in-law (Andre Bond) will be on holidays anyway until that time.
Opinions please.........

I can't remember the size (I haven't picked it up yet). It's big enough though that I could definately use a 9 volt somewhere.

Hey guys, here is the letter I wrote to Honda regarding the issues I've had with my car. This is the second time I have written them and the responses are usually favourable. Gimme your opinions on this please...
To Whom It May Concern:
This is not the first time I have written with regards to my car but again I felt it necessary to do so. I drive a 2001 Honda Civic Si (Canadian) and have had several issues with the car, which are likely well documented in your records.
Before I deal with the issues at hand I would first of all I would like to tell you that I love my car and have always been partial to Honda in general. I belong to a car club (www.7thgencivic.com) that consists of members from across North America that own the same generation of Civic. Locally, I have a team of several members that I meet with on a weekly basis who are all a part of the above-mentioned club.
I would like to thank you for the letter I received in response to my first and the wonderful letter I received recently with your apology for the problems I have had with my struts (dampers) and the $100 voucher which I used to purchase the RS grill for my car, thank you again! Your records will now show that I am on my third or fourth (I lost count) set of front struts and I would like to add that the pair I just received are an incredible improvement over the previous issues, job well done!
Now to the issues at hand and the other reason for this letter. I have just had my Air Conditioning Compressor changed for the second time. The first was quite scary because it nearly caused my car to catch fire. The second was because I had come to the realization that the Air Conditioning was failing to work about 4 weeks or so after it was replaced. I had never used it until that day and it was about 40 degrees Celsius outside. I booked the car back in and they informed me that the compressor was gone again and that the part was on back order. The car was in this past Friday for the third compressor. The Air Conditioning was functioning but it appears that there is yet another problem. That very night I discovered another noise similar to the first occurrence. It’s a grinding sound that occurs under throttle increases and is coming from the same area as the compressor and the alternator (which has also already once been replaced). If I turn the Air Conditioner on the sound becomes more constant telling me that one, it could be the compressor (for the third time) or it could be the alternator reacting more negatively with the additional load from the Air Conditioner being engaged. I have a voltmeter installed in my car which shows a large drop when the AC is turned on and then quickly rebounds to about 14 volts. The car as a result will have to be brought in Monday morning and I will again have to miss some work. I don’t know what they will tell me other than the fact that the problem is one of the two things I have mentioned. I do have a feeling that whatever they have to replace will be on back order as is always the case. I wouldn’t have a problem with this if the parts were not vital to the cars well being. I do know that these two parts can cause additional harm if not replaced and find myself stuck at home afraid to drive the car until morning when I bring it to the dealership. As I mentioned before, the first time the car nearly caught fire because the parts were not available and I was sent home forced to re-book the car. I had to tow it in for the next appointment (which my dealership gladly refunded). So I’m now looking at either my fourth compressor or my third alternator, we will know for sure on Monday I guess.
The dealership the car is taken to is Lallier Honda in Hull, Quebec. I tell you this only as a point of reference for your records. I am always happy with the service I get from this dealership. Further to this point I feel compelled to mention that they have asked to meet with myself and my fellow team members in order to discuss the seventh generation Civic. They want to know what can be done with the car as far as upgrades, where we get the parts, how much they cost and general discussion regarding the car itself. I can’t tell you enough how nice it is to have your dealer care that much as to take the time to talk with some of their customers on a one on one basis like this. We were all more than happy to oblige them and can’t wait for this opportunity. Needless to say that they were given very high praise on our website for this gesture and hopefully more dealers will follow suit.
I am now leaning on trading in for the 2004 model once it becomes available but am leery about the additional cost of doing so. My original intent was to buy out my 2001 and go from there. I have contemplated swapping out the motor for a K20A3 (2002-03 SiR hatch) but that will cost upwards of $4500 and I’m not sure I’m prepared to do this simply because of the problems I have encountered with the factory D-17 engine. The car is at 56,000 kms and the warranty is nearly expired so my options are somewhat open.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to any suggestions or additional questions you may have with regards to this letter.
Yours truly,
Mike Luedey

Geeze Mike... That brings a tear to my eye. Awsome letter man!!! All I know is that I have a bachelor party to be at weekend of August 15-17 (Friday-Sunday) It's at a cottage, so those are the dates I'm out of town. Other than that, anytime after 2 pm I'm available.

Update on my Vic!
Okay, the car is in for the Alternator now. The shop manager looked at it and is going to work on it himself. I watched him hook up the PMG computer to the ECU and everything read fine which leads him to beleive that it may be the installation of the Alternator that's causing the problems. If you apply pressure to it the noise goes away. Either way, I think I'm gonna get a 2004 in September when they come out. Andre mentioned maybe being able to get me into a new one with no down payment and no increase to my monthly payments. So basically I'll be assuming a new lease. They would then swap all my parts on the new one free of charge..he he he!
I'm driving a damn 2003 Corolla right now and it looks like a monster truck. Also it has recoil steering. It rebounds to center so quick it's almost dangerous! I was supposed to get an Accent (ick) as a free rental but I opted to upgrade to the Corolla and because it took Enterprise about an hour to come and get me they gave me the upgrade for free...he he he he again...lol.
I'm hoping to get the car back tomorrow night or Wednesday but rest asured it'll be kept indoors during the night. The parts will arrive by morning. You would think something like an alternator would be closer at hand wouldn't you...???? I probably could have driven the car but if the alternator fails it'll eat my battery..

bells corners? just head west on the 417 and get off at moodie.
head LEFT on moodie (south I guess), and scoot down for a bit.
turn LEFT on richmond road (might be robertson right there), and it'll be on your right hand side not too far down the road.
I THINK.

Freddy: Remember where that coin wash was that we went to the day your car got all set up? Basically if head east on that road towards Bayshore shopping mall you'll see a mini mall with an East Side Marios in it. Turn left there and go straight ahead til you can't anymore. then turn left and go into the first right side parking lot and go around the back of the building..you'll see that shop there. Call him : Plus 1 Performance - 613-721-1546.

FreddySi: ok, after hearing what Pharoh said...yup, my directions were solid
Array: OH SHIZIT!!!! I GOTTA GO TO THE DMV!!! you only have 90 days once you get your M1!!! fek!!!
so yeah, get your M1 ($15), and then you have to wait 30 days before getting your M2, but the M1 expires in 90 days.
I took a weekend course for $320 which gauranteed me coming out with my M2. you have to have your M2 for a full year before getting your M. it's like the G licenses.
the weekend course was NUTS! so fun! even my bro-in-law said that he learned new techniques and whatnot, and he's been driving bikes for over ten years now.
I'd definately recommend the "Ottawa Safety Council" course!

oh yeah, what garages would you guys recommend for an engine swap?
tapp auto is looking to be the place, but are there any other reputable places?
I'm thinking I might try chassel in montreal and see what they can do. it'd be easy to take it there, hang out for a vacation, and then drive it home
I'd have to put on my 15's though...f*ck man, I'd KILL my rims if I went there with them!!!

i think tapp is the best, i have heard good things about em, but i dunno about montreal, what if he want to explain something to you, he will say it in french, or the gay chritian accent, i prefer english :-)

hehehe yeah, true enough about the french.
but...my gf speaks french (somewhat), as does my brother in law (again, somewhat)
hehehe
plus, half of their staff speaks english. the problem is, I know that these guys are HUGE in the ways of parts...just not sure if they're overly popular for swaps.
I'm seriously looking into this now. I plan on doing the swap next summer. Plus, I'm bored at work, so it's all I have to do
