Just from hearing all of this, it makes me think ordering from SF isnt a good idea. I dont have the money to order a turbo kit, but from this SF wouldnt be my first choice. Too many mistakes and also when I order a item I dont want to wait several months to get it, and then be givin the run around on when I will get it.

its not life or death people and you cant really get that kinda turbo any where else unless you want junky ones For the price they charge for a complete kit with upgrades a custom shop in town could do it. The only hard part is the manifold / downpipe (which is why I just purchased that and went custom the rest of the way). The other companies just didn't put time / effort into RD'ing their kits. Doesn't mean their "junky," it just means they weren't designed for the application.
As far as SF, I've been hearing / reading on a few other boards there have been some quality / customer service issues lately. I am not trying to start anything, nor am I trying to trash talk SF. All I know is that there seem to be a few more people who don't seem to be getting their monies worth by going the SF route. I still don't know myself because I still don't have my parts. If / when I actually do get my parts you'll all hear about it, as I'll be 1 step closer to actually having a turboed civic. Until than all I can do is dream....

u give me $3,400 for over 3 months and tell me how u feel, then when u finally get it, u can't use it and then you have to send it back at your own expense b/c of someone else's mistake.

1 intercooler sent back because SF logo backwards and requested no logo in first place
Pipes predrilled for alcohol injection when I didnt order alcholol injection
Shitty DSM bosche bov included with shipment instead of turbo xs
Intercooler sent back without logo but missing a weld ( have to take time to find a welder to fix this) and still no turbo xs bov
All i can say is expect 5 months before your order is correctly filled...i ordered on august 27th 2003 and still to this day do not have a full SF kit. It is functional but it's not what i ordered. They are very nice people but i am so pissed that i didnt go the custom route. I could've pieced together a kit that would've been equivalent to the SF kit with a little research. I feel your pain just stick it out maybe they really are as busy as they claim to be.

That's actually amazing - considering I have not received one phone call or email from them regarding my order - I have been the one asking the questions about status updates....

I had to pay for a cancelation fee for the dyno session I missed because I did not receive my intercooler by the date promised by SF. They are trying to make things right but i can honestly feel for you guys who are just trying to get turbocharged. On top of all of this I had to pay to send the first intercooler back out of my own pocket because they put a damn SF logo on it.

right when i think i should keep my kit, things like what happened to civic01vtec, dober and other start to come into play and have me rethinking it. i'll probably have someone/some shop install my kit and if pieces are missing, they cant finish the job and i'm stuck paying more for them to uninstall what they have so far or i'm stuck without my daily driver. Catalys has been keeping me up to date with my kit and it should shipped out by the weekend, hopefully he keeps his word and double checks so everything is boxed up. i'd rather keep waiting than have half a kit.

We have not changed a thing in shipping since we started the kits. civic01's pipes were scratched, but the other 35 civic kits were not. i would call this an "isolated incident". the packaging is all the same, the boxes are all the same, the parts are all the same. Nevertheless, i am fixing the pipes for him. The only thing we have changed in shipping is we went from fedex to UPS because fedex caused $1500 in damages to a celica kit.
Dober, we have talked about your kit via email, pm's, and phone calls.
opto, i have sent you updates. i told you where your parts were, what was going on with them, and when we should have them back. Saying that i never said anything to you is quite unfair to my half.

I'm sorry if i sounded to harsh mike.....but i work hard for my money and when i give somebody $3,400 i expect to get what i paid for when promised. I am building a show car that has some ***** too and my whole theme is in white. And about the pipes being scuffed up, i can live with a few scuffs, but every single one is scuffed up really bad.
And as far as packaging goes, no offense mike, but it looks like it took u about 5 min. The pipes were poorly wrapped, my charge pipe that goes over the TB is bent and is now oval shaped, the plastic T fitting that is on the rubber vaccum hose is broken in half and my Intercooler is dented.
So, when u send my pipes back, please take the extra time to pack them cuz if they are scuffed again, they are coming right back to u.
