Nevertheless, i am fixing the pipes for him. The only thing we have changed in shipping is we went from fedex to UPS because fedex caused $1500 in damages to a celica kit.

Dober, we have talked about your kit via email, pm's, and phone calls.

opto, i have sent you updates. i told you where your parts were, what was going on with them, and when we should have them back. Saying that i never said anything to you is quite unfair to my half.
Yes we did an it was resolved. Did my BOV and alcohol injection get sent out on Wednesday like I was told?

Catalys has been keeping me up to date with my kit and it should shipped out by the weekend, hopefully he keeps his word and double checks so everything is boxed up. i'd rather keep waiting than have half a kit.
The kit is nice I'm glad you decided to get it afterall. If it weren't for the initial problems I would be completely satisified. I am kinda bitter because I was promised my IC would be to me before my tuning session and then I had to pay to cancel. However, SF is making it right with me for my patience. I have no clue when I will see the rest of my kit but I'm trying to make the best of it because the kit is high quality and works well.

Sorry for the bitterness Mike I hope that future transactions go as well as they did with Mike S on the phone and you in private messages.

damn, after reading all of this everyday, I would say to everyone, DONT ORDER FROM STAFFORD FABRICATIONS. Damn If I paid 3400, and had to wait 3 or 4 months, I would be one pissed mother *****. I would call all day every day untill I got my ****. Also I could understand if this happened to one person, but it seems to have happened to everyone. And also everyone is getting there kits with missing parts, messed up parts, and parts that are not properly packages. so to Mike at SF, I am not going to be an ***, but if people are paying 3400 for a turbo kit, you should at least pack the **** properly and make sure that you have satisfied customers, and it looks to be you dont. As always with satisfied customers comes more business, and you know that probably alot of people who have ordered from you are probably not satisfied customers as to the treads they are writing. That should concern you alittle. I know you probably make alot of business anyway, but it should make you feel good to help out customers, I know I feel good when I help someone out at work. If I had the money to buy a turbo, after reading all of this, I hate to say it, but I wouldnt buy from you.

I really had my mind set on a turbo, but now I'm not so sure. I definately don't want to take it to a shop and have them tell me they need more parts to install it. It's not just what's posted on this thread. I've been hearing stuff from other people and other sites. Well, I'm not gonna say anything bad cause that's not me, but I'm getting the ported head from DH-racing instead with the money I was saving. At least I'll know the work is quality and everything will be done properly.

Guys, I hear what you are saying but please don't get me wrong the kit is quality and works very well. If you can wait longer than expected for your kit then you will be very happy with the results. I think we pumped their ego's up a bit because everybody's signatures read:

STAFFORD FABRICATION

They ARE good people and DO care about their customers. They are trying to get things sorted out and they made things right with me. I shouldn't have posted what I did because in the end I will have one kick *** kit. If they inconvenience you in any way call them and let them know. They have been very responsive with me and they are making efforts to answer the phones when we call

From reading all of this, it doesnt sound like they are taking care of their customers. Come on, I mean most people are getting no responses on when they will get their kit, alot of people have been getting there kits with missing parts and/or messed up parts. I can understand if it happened to one or mayber even two people, but when more than 10 people are having a problem, then something is wrong. Sounds like they are just interested in money, not making customers happy.

I pointed out with my last post that they are making things right with me just like Catalyst said.

yeah, they are making things right....it's not like they ran off with our money. They did makes lots of mistakes with prolly everybody's kit and they do fix them. But it just gets frustrating. As far as nobody getting responses......that is not true. Everytime i pm'ed Catalyst, i got a response. And as far as them not wanting to make customers happy, that is also not true.

IMO, they just need to get their act together and be honest with everybody and take the time to make sure that the kit is complete b4 sending it out.

look you guys, i am going to tell you exactly what I have been doing recently with my customer service.

Ok, we released the corolla kit not too long ago. And we sold a kit to a customer who wantd to put it on him self. So he does and there was a small mistake with one of the pipes. So we built him another non-intercooled kit, and fixed his other pipe and got it back to him re-powdercoated within 3 days. He then drove out here for us to check out some stuff, and while he was here, his powersteering hose broke because it didnt get tied out of the way during installation. We promptly fix this for him (though it was not our fault). We give him his fuel rail, and he installs it. While installing it, he cut an o-ring that later caused a leak. So we drove the 97 miles 1-way to fix this $4 part for him. Then he reported a drivability issue, so we drove up again to re-route vaccum lines to minimalize this issue.

so in the end, we had put several hundred miles on my car, and had a happy customer in the end. there were some mistakes on our half, but it was the first corolla kit produced, so there were bound to be some. But we fixed everything regardless.

And with you civic guys.... you have purchased 35 kits from us. And how many have had problems? about 5 or 6 of you. And those people are the only ones you guys ever talk about. You dont see that some of our customers absolutely love the kit. Wes got his kit, and loves it. todd got his kit, bolted in on, and 5 days later ran a 13.7 @ 103 mph. Do you guys bring up the 30 cases of happy customers? I am not attacking any of you guys that are waiting on us. I sincerely apologize for the wait. And i am doing everything possible to make everyone happy. But you have to realize, i am not a salesman. I am a fabricator. Every time you guys post a question on here instead of pm'ing me, i have to take time out right then and there to answer it. sometimes this takes an hour to clarify a single post. I have spent all day answering questions on a forum when if they would have just PM'd me I would have answered it on my break and would have had more time to actually work on the kits. Like this thread..... it was started just to see if there were any other anxious people out there. And a few mis-worded phrases by several different members turned it into a "kill SF" thread. I am not mad at those people, because i know they didnt mean for that to happen.

I just want you guys to PM me with your questions. Because i will answer them.

yeah catalyst..... if i would have know what this thread was going to turn into, i wouldnt have started it..... i just wanted to know if i was the only person peeing in their pants because they couldnt stand the excitement of having a turbo kit on the way for their car...... i love my kit...... today, if i could have kept traction in first and second gear, i would have had an awesome 1/4 mile time..... i hooked it up to a gtech(i know that they are not that accurate) and i ran a 14.9 on 7-8lbs of boost with factory rims and tires with NO tread @ 106 mph....... just think of what i could have run if i only had some tires.... but that will be solved this weekend... tires are on the way

Thanks for taking care of us catalyst..... also, SF also hooked us up, the ones that waited for a while, with upgraded turbos and downpipes.....

You are great about answering us in PM's I must admit. Being honest with us will keep us patient and I think you know that already. I believe you are sincere when you apologize for the wait just keep us informed and give honest updates.

On another note, does anybody's pipes keep popping off under higher boost???? I'm gonna reclamp all of my piping this weekend.

I am very happy and satisfied with my sf kit, I got it within a month of paying for the turbo kit. SF had great customer service and answered all my questions. I went down to lancaster to get my kit installed and I could see how busy they were making all of your kits. They were working sometimes 24 hours round the clock. If you were there watching them build the kits, you could see they have a crapload of work to do and sometimes they would have problems of the turbo shipment not coming in, getting robbed, and sending pipes to the powdercoater. Plus I honestly dont think they were expecting to sell (and fabricate) as many kits as people had ordered .... I have experienced nothing but excellent service and quility work from the SF guys, and i even got to kick it with them for a bit and they are cool guys who are over worked IMO ......

TWO THUMBS UP FROM ME !

sovereign82 is an unknown quantity at this point
This is how I see the situation...

Like the example above with the Corrolla kit, SF did much of the same for many of the "original" SF kits. They drove to other states to install kits, they gave good discounts, etc etc. Everyone was happy. Everyone ran to the boards and said great things about SF. Deeds like the one above are great advertisement for SF. However, these actions create expectations for SF. Customers expected to get the same level of service as those original purchasers. As the company has grown, these levels of service just cannot be managed unless additional staffing was added. Rightly or wrongly, SF did not come out and say that previous levels of service were now unobtainable. Build times grew, forecasts were optomistic, facility, production, and ordering problems also sprung up. This is just a fact of life in the specialty business. A fact that was blind to many from the original service SF was able to supply. People need to remember that SF makes great products, have good service, and have many happy customers. What I think this thread has done is bring out the reality of business for many. Think about it people...Do you ever get a Big Mac like the one in the commercials? Does your Starbucks coffee really taste like the first shops in Seattle? I think not...but that still doesn't make those company's and their products great.

dober,

if the pipes keep coming off, take the coupler off that keeps slipping off, and spray some hairspray in there. Be aware though, you will have a hard time pulling it off in the future.
