No RMP or Temp gauge, sputtering engine, stalling
Hey guys, my civic was running great no signs of anything going bad, then on my way to work i noticed the RMP and the temp gauge were not functioning. The car started to sputter as if not enough fuel was getting to the engine and stalled out. I was able to start her up again and get it back to my house by staying in second gear and keeping the RMP's high by feathering the clutch. It felt like a fuel pump issue, but I'm not sure why the gauges would stop working if that was the case? I haven't had time to get to it to see what's going on but, if anyone has any trouble shooting guides id really appreciate it. please help lol

check battery and alternator bolts (if they are tight). Ground wires too (3 of them)
and check if a critter did not get in looking for warmth and chewed your wiring

Update:
battery voltage 12.6 when car is off, voltage at 14.2 when car is running. Took a few times of turning over and giving it some throttle to get her started and revving up the RMP's for her to stay at a constant idle. Still no RMP or temp gauge. idled a little high but, the moment i give it some throttle it starts to bog down and stall.

Okay, so couldn't connect to the ECU with my OBD2 sensor. Hooked it up to my friends corrola and worked instantly. ECU could be the problem right? I'm purchasing a remanufactured ECU unit to replace the old one, I've seen some guys replace the ignition with it as well. is replacing the ignition necessary? or do I just need to program the new ecu to my car? really could use the help, thanks guys!

7th gen have the immobilizer.
Key need to be programmed to ECU, locksmiths can do it.
Check if alternator bolts are tight - that is the usual cause of fried ECU
get ECU for same car year/model/transmission type.

Seriously, do this. It may fix all your issues without having to replace the ECU (if it isn't fried yet). Three mounting bolts on the alternator that you need to check: one on top of the alternator to mounting bracket, one underneath from mounting bracket to alternator, last underneath from bracket to engine block. The mating surfaces of the two underneath need to be clean (bare metal). The one that's usually missed is from the bracket to the alternator underneath. The adjustment bolt can still be used to keep the belt tight without that bolt tightened so people miss it.
