Question Tie Rod Ends?!?

Hey All,

I have an 05 EX (Canadian Si) which is lowered on F2 coilovers for a few months now. Just recently I've been hearing a clunking noise from the front driver's side when I go over bumps. It doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes. Could this be a bad tie rod end? How can you tell when the tie rod end is bad? Any help would be great.

Thanks

I could be, but it could also be just a loose bolt or the spring hat isn't tight enough against the top of the shock tower. Take a look around under there and see if you're bottoming out against anything. Then check all your bolts and look for oil or grease on everything. Then of course check for signs of rubbing/bumping. One of the 3 checks should yield your problem. Mine ended up being a loose upper strut bolt and it was just wiggling back and forth in the shock tower cup. GL with it man.

clunking noise, it could also be an endlink, which is for the sway bars. get under there and find out!

I'd say endlink, but theres a slight chance it could be a blown shock, but you'd see fluid leaking like tuningmycivic stated.

Make sure all your perches are nice and tight too, that's the most common problem and most easily diagnosed/fixed.

^ How do you tell whether or not the perches are tight enough?

Sorry for bumping a thread from the dead...
