Troubleshooting Coilover Problem
Hey guys,
I've tried searching and havent really found a solution to my problem.
Alright, well this weekend I installed a set of Function and Form Coilovers on my civic. After getting the suspension installed I got the car aligned and started driving around to test them out. I have it set at 1 finger gap all around.
The problem I'm getting is when I go over any type of bump in the road, the front driverside is making a popping or clunking noise. (Not one of those turning popping problems) All the other corners make no noise whatsoever. So I am going to try and troubleshoot this on the weekend. So any experiences would help! Thanks

Re: Troubleshooting Coilover Problem
it could be coil bind... Where the spring will shift when you hit a bump. Try putting White Lithium Grease on it and see if that works, to eliminate Metal to Metal grind.
That's all i have.

Re: Troubleshooting Coilover Problem
mine still pop every now and again- its been a month or two- thats normal.
The usual check points:
Check your endlink?
anything rubbing?
everything tight - bolts on tower, spring tight to perch?
My problem was that my spring wasnt tight enough on the cylinder itself. I had to move the rings up to compress it- it was too loosse and could be moved slightly by hand when uncompressed by the weight of the car.
