Hayame Coilovers V.2.0 - a VERY long wait!
by compressing the springs = adding more pre-load = less drop. That's how mine is adjusted. If they never fix the rear problem I am very disappointed (b/c I have the same problem for my v1, rear just not low enough)
all i know is that the strut is screwed down as far as it will go, and i compressed the spring about 3-4 threads. that is giving me a 1 finger gap right now. once i get some miles on em and they sag, hopefully that 1 finger gap will be gone, then i wont have any gap in the front or rear. i am a bit confused about the preload tho. anybody feel like explaining it to me? or did i do everything correctly?
so b4 you install the rear, do the springs move freely? If they move freely=no pre-load. Supposely more compress = more pre-load = stiffer ride. Hows your ride?
For my V1, I lower the strut all the way down. With more pre-load = more compress springs, my rear go higher. However when I take off pre-load = less compress springs, my rear will go lower. hmmm

no they dont move freely. they are tightened 3-4 threads past moving freely=compressed a little bit. i want it a little stiff anyways. i got it done late so i have not drove it yet. il post the ride quality tom. so what gap u got on ur v1's in the rear?
SWEET they fix the problem on the v2(which is what I want to hear) I will wait for teLLy review then I will call back SPW to get mine replaced. I tighened 2 threads past moving freely and I still have 2 and half finger gap in the rear. =(
Please get some pix and review on the ride(on bumpy road if possible) tomorrow. Thanks civicdude04!

It's your car man. Go buy another one then put the coils on, LOL. Just playin man, maybe once a couple more people get theirs on we can all come to a consensus on the best settings for max rear drop.

ops, looking at the bottom of the strut, it looks like there is no way to cut it without affecting the strut component. The bottom has a flat-head screw in it. I think you cannot cut it or else it would be like cutting strut...fluid will be flowing out of it
and making the whole coil-over system useless

Not much of a Slammed Blue EM2. 4-inch drop... I can't even get 3 or 2 in the rear. People with springs and stock struts are lower than me.
This $650 Hayames deal seem like non-adjustable Koni with stiff springs with a 1 inch drop. The sad thing is some cheap springs and Konis would've cost the same or a little bit more... and I'd have the adjustable shocks and a lower car.
So what's goin on next Monday? SPW will send out the new front collars Monday. If you want in on it call them that day and you can get them shipped ASAP.

And I cant believe Hayame posted and replied without even addressing the height adjustment issue on the rear.
Hayame will post install instructions on their website soon? How about posting it before you sell the product to the public? Havent Hayame heard of the "documentation phase" in project management cycle?
but then again, we all know and heard of the phrase "you get what you pay for."
Slammed Blue EM2, I was thnking the same thing. I could have gotten a spring and strut (AGX my fav) combo. At least Im getting the 'real' drop that I want.
Has anyone thought about making complaints with BBB?

well i have had my hayames on for a few days now. they settled a little bit, and to tell you the truth, i am quite happy with how they turned out. they handle extremely well, and now that they have settled, the rear is at a NO finger gap (about 2.75" or so) and the front is at a no finger gap as well (about 3"). that is low enough for me, and for the $650 they cost, i would say it is worth it (once you give them time to settle). if anyone wants to see how it looks, i can post pics tomorrow.
i dont feel every crack in the road, but i feel alot of it. i dont really think the ride quality is bad at all. it is kind of bouncy, but i like it like that so it just depends on what you like. but overall, i would say the ride isnt that bad.
