That's not good. Have you linked to an odbII reader to see if there are any codes? But adjusting the tps should fix it. Once it's loose, you can slide it up or down to raise/lower idle.

What's that supposed to mean? Alot of people here use safc if they don't have vtec. Did you have it dyno tuned yet, or did he just adjust one of the initial setup functions.

This might be useful to you. It's the reply I got from maxbore.com about rasing idle. I'm gonna try it out soon.
Hello Steve.
Adjusting the TPS will not raise the idle.
what you need to do is this.
There is a 7mm nut that holds the butterfly stop screw.
Very carefully, loosen the nut and turn the screw so that
the butterfly opens a little more.
that way it will let more air thru. the old throttle bodies
had an idle adjust screw, but for some reason Honda deleted
that.
lIf you are not comfortable doing that, I can do it for you.
Just send it i and I'll adjust the butterfly to let more air
by.
thanks.

No, sorry. My cable is tight and it still idles the same. The only thing you get from a tight cable is instant throttle response when you touch the gas.

a little too tight
so we backed off so it went back to normal, but he still had the added throttle response..

How does the car drive / idle with what you have now? Reason I ask is because everyone here seems to have had problems with a PnP head, except catylist, who doesn't even post here anymore....

I'd also like to know. My idle is still rough even though it's at 700rpms (normal). Otherwise, there's nothing really wrong. I really wish there was a dyno down here.
Hey I know you guys know your stuff but I was reading in my manual that when you disconnect the battery you are supposed to do an Idle Learn Procedure. I noticed that if it don't do it the car idles like crap and loads up with fuel for about a week or two till the ecu calibrates itself. Just checking to see if you knew about that.

I have the Honda service manual and read about it. I sometimes am lazy and don't do it, and the idle is fine. This is before the new head, tho. I did do it recently to see if it helps, but no luck. Oh well, you can't really notice the shaking when holding down the brake pedal.

I bet it's the head with the ports being too big, but it doesn't bother me much anymore.
cwick187, did you ever get your vafc retuned after everything? This is what I have. Do you think it's okay?

That's really good, just like stock Si. I've got the head, bored out TB, and header. I'm trying to get it tuned, but there's never time for me and dynos are hard to find. So those settings are okay?

I agree those are great numbers. Do you have the sheet from the dyno?
I would like to know how that curve is shaped and how you are doing on fuel tuning. If you could scan that thing and let us check it out we would appreciate it.

He's using a vafcII and cam gear, although those mods costed alot (not nearly as much as it should have been even).
I have a whole thread on my bored TB. It feels like low end went down a bit, but over 3krpms it pulls nicely
If you ask me, it's like an aftermarket air intake without all the noise.

TTT - Any update on dyno? Also - I was just reading KMS' web site. You said you got the "stage 2" PnP - what is different between that and the stage one?
Also - did you get the stainless valves with the springs and keepers - or did you keep your old ones? I am thinking for the money KMS might be the way to go...
I just bought an LX head from another member here for $150, maybe later this year (or early next) I am going to get the PnP with springs / oversized valves / retainers from John -
That is, if your numbers that you put down are decent!

The stage 2 is a 3 angle valve job. And I got my springs and retainers done. For the tb I just bought a new one for a member of the site so when I get that one I am going to change the bore to see if the tps is f**k up. I cant get it tune until I fix this little problem.

I was wondering if anybody knows if the 74mm TB is just too big, for a turbo setup with a head job? I have one here I got a while back, but don't know of anybody using it, and I might be better off just getting my stock one bored instead. Any advice from you all?
