I'm actually digging that aqua paint job, it reminds me of a EDM, UKDM exclusive colour lol

Its bad *** no doubt, its just prohibitively expensive for anything short of a show car. I mean you want to race your car dude, chances are its gonna take a beaten so why spent thousands on a paint job.
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
well yes/no... im only going to race it like a few weekends a year... nothing serious... and its a summer car.... unless i can find some kind of fine steel mesh to custom cover that gaping hole in the bumper that attracts so much snow i can't winter drive it.... plus i would get stuck EVERYWHERE... first things first anyway i want to get the body in nice condition first...

Thousands might be a bit much, but for a good paint job on a Civic you can normally expect to spend $400-800 on paint, I'm not expert but thats what I understand from my past research. A candy job is easily 6,8,10 or more coats of paint, so it should cost several times what a regular 2-3 coat paint job.
I'm all about satin the new satin clears, I don't know much about candy.
1 coat sealer
1 coat silver or metalflake paint
1-3 coats of candy (which is just a translucent colored paint) depanding on how dark you want it.
3-5 coats of clear
I think that's right, but it's been a while sense I've researched it.

P.S. I will be attempting my first paint job this summer/spring on my truck

A 2-3 coat paint job is half assing it. If I remember correctly you would need...

1-3 coats of candy (which is just a translucent colored paint) depanding on how dark you want it.
3-5 coats of clear

I've seen a few candy apple paint jobs that do 4 coats gold, 6 coats red, 5 coats clear. Damn thats a lot of wet sanding..

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
If you are going to keep the turbo then I would just rebuild that engine with forged internals that can take a lot of boost. A B18 will not take very much boost, and the compression ratio is high too.

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
If you swap in low compression pistons its a good turbo motor, but if your not going to build the internals then go for a non-vtec motor with lower compression..

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
well... ya? i thought thats what you needed to do with boost is lower the compression?... oh i get it.... yeah what i meant in my last post is... it don't matter what the compression is becuase i will be buying forged pistons with lower compression
