Hi there!
sorry to bust in on the conversation but....
There's a guy in Edmonton that deals with console gaming stuff he might know where to get the hardware. foundmy.com
I've built my own PIC chip programer for like $30 and burning chips is very simple. I dunno about the actual programming of it though.
You can get blank chips from digikey.com
Here's the info on chrome

Never worry about busting in on conversations on this forum, we're all friends here and any advice you have to give is always more than welcome and encouraged!
You never know who might find information helpful, once exams are over I might look into Chrome for my E30 since its cheap lol.

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
so this is the third time i have had the turbo out... i can do it under 5 mins... could probably do it blindfolded... don't know if that a good thing or not haha, atleast i know exactly what to do to get it out now.... I MAY HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM!!! the gasket material i was using to create my own gaskets was a thick cardboard type material... i think that when my car got hot enough it would burn it leaving a gap which means the bolts would be loose and they would vibrate and back off... i changed my material to some stuff that won't burn
we will try this

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
man i tried... i can't get lock nuts in there.... see this turbo is built with threaded holes... but with this application there is no way you could have had bolts going threw the turbo AND the manifold... so the holes were drilled out and a piece was fabricated with studs... since the turbo was not built this was its extremely hard to even get a nut tight because its so close to the casting of the turbo... and for gasket im using what i have... i emailed mitsubichi and haven't had a response yet.

When you make your own gaskets the best material to use its 1/8 inch copper.

^ I don't think we are talking about the same things.
A locking nut= a nut that has a extra top part that adds pressure to the treads to prevent it from loosening
A lock nut= A second nut that locks the first one on the bolt

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
that was a HUGE precaution when I was in the Navy, just because a lot of **** on our carrier still used asbestos, and working in the power plant/engine room, we're most likely to run into the stuff
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
This is a locknut...
I could not find the ideal pic. There are other kinds that are all metal instead of having that little poly ring in there, that would stand the heat better.

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
Take the darned adaptor to a machine shop and machine it down... so you have more space for the bolts, or just re-thread them, or just weld everything together...

Wow. Did you read my post at all? I said that they make ones without the plastic (poly) ring that will stand high heat!

I literally throw my clothes away after working with asbestos, of course, you guys aren't covered in it head to toe like I am.. I really need a new job..
When you eventually paint the car, please post a thread in our new paint and auto-body forum. I'm whoring it out to everyone, so every falls in love with it and Triz keeps it!
