no idea if this is a good set up or not
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
so i took it apart... found out that the out of the bolts that hold the turbo on 2 bolts sheared off and one was really loose and there was a bolt missing that holds my fabricated piece that allows the turbo to bolt to it and it to bolt to the exhaust manifold here are some pictures

No probs man, I've bought a few things from them and they're a great company.
That was a factory turbo for 1st gen eclipses and talons, I doubt an auto-parts store will have the gasket. Either look online or go to the Mitsubishi dealership.

Did some spraying to get that manifold off did ya?
Clean that baby up and get it fixed and it should look great. Have you managed to remove the spark plug?

na man i tried for a bit on the plug then i decided it ran good i won't mess with it... don't want to break it off in the head that would SUCK... yeah im going to buff it up and maybe paint it... don't know what color yet...
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
oh and i was gonna ask about spark plugs.... what kind of plugs should i be running with it being a turbo and all... the plugs that are in it don't look like there anything special... but my god the chocolate brown that the plugs are is amazing! honestly these plugs are a perfect example of what plugs should look like....

Paint is serious money, if your not looking to do something show quality look into vinyl wrapping.

Haha that makes more sense, I edited my post to remove the huge 56k pictures.
A couple cans of high temp paint are the best investment you can make in your car, it makes a huge difference in appearance to paint valve covers, brake calipers and stuff.

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
im definatly going red on the calipers and drums though.... that brings me to another question... is it even worth it to convert back brakes to disk? the back brakes are drum brakes to prevent excess wear and tear from your front tires kicking up debris... drum brakes keep the shoes coverd
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
as for body painting... i have a 67 bug thats a field bagger and when i got it i took the good ol can of tremclad rust paint and a pain brush to her... don't look too bad
Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
Spark plug is probably cross threaded. It happened to me on my 97. I ended up having to remove the head, drill out the plug and heli-coil the hole.
And disk brakes are always better.

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
Disks brakes are better, but the proportioner is like 75-25 to the front so no huge performance gains; rear disks are about looks unless you change out the proportioner.
That being said, find someone on craigslist parting out a teg and a rear disk set-up is pretty cheap.

if its cross threaded im going to be mad!! how do you even cross thread a spark plug!! you must be retarded to do that.... is there a possibility of breaking the spark plug? cause i mean its REALLY tight... i can put all i got into it and it only slightly turns

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
there was a guy around here that did break the plug.
don't recommend.
just get your uncle remove the head and do the job. chances are high that you will need to do it anyway.
Also, before thinking on painted calipers and stuff, first get under the car and inspect everything that you can see.
if you going to do the ball joints, better to do the job at once.
also, think about checking the skunk2 stuff (arms, etc, although the taxes should not make it easy to ship to canada...)
Check also if you have camber arms (skunk2 coilovers on your car?).
your tires are not for turboed' cars, for example...
your suspension arms could be damaged as well. see my arms a few back. not even sure how it happened, but they did...

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
thats from the torque the turbo gives?!?! well i will get the car all inspected before i put any parts into it... i don't have money or a job right now and funds are tight.... i fixed the turbo ordeal... although its leaking again by the turbo adaptor i might just leave it for now... im getting 5 pounds of boost with the leak... and i had the cops called for having no license plate on.... thank god to family friends with a scanner... so it will be parked for a while... until i get some money anyway... oh and i have to ask is there any way to get the heater to blow harder? and produce more hot air.... im gonna get a hotter thermostat... if there is even one in the car... and i ordered a block heater... thats all i can think of for now... i might just leave the car at my uncles shop and get him to do everything over the winter slowly when he has time... so happy the only thing wrong with the turbo was it wasn't spinning... OH i just remembered!! right off the BOV or the waste gate on the line to the intake... im thinking its the BOV... is there something supposed to be attached to it...??? ill take pictures right now and show you what im talking about

Re: no idea if this is a good set up or not
I usually place the ID of the pic on the top, so was referring to the 2nd pic.
The BOV attachement have threads in there then? no missing nuts, as i thought previously.
BOV is supposed to just blow the gases to the atmosphere, so not sure if they supposed to link to something (I don't and never had turbos).
