SRS light on and no horn

We had an accident and the front end was repaired. When we got the car back, the SRS light was on and then I noticed the horn didn't work. Can anyone make some suggestions about how to fix this? My insurance won't pay to have this corrected.

Re: SRS light on and no horn

Who's ever fault it was should be the ones to repair it. If they dont, you can take legal action on them. The srs light being on means either they did not reset the light (search RESET SRS) or there is a fault somewhere in your system- meaning an airbag is show as deployed or the seat doesnt have the SRS equipment connected, etc.

As for the horn, its between the grill and the drivers side headlight under the crash rail. Check that its there, that its connected, and that the fuse isnt blow. After that, you need to check with a multimeter that current is getting drawn.. if its not, replace, if it is, you need to trace the wires and find the problem.

Re: SRS light on and no horn

Did the air bags deploy ??

If there is a problem with the clock spring in the steering column it could cause both problems.

Do you hear a click noise from under the hood when attempting the horn ??( from horn relay)

Thats what I learned in school, is that if you are having both problems at the same time, its probably your clock spring. I think craigw is right

Re: SRS light on and no horn

Thanks to all for the replies. I am going out to check on the horn in a minute. As for the Airbags, no, they never deployed. It was a relatively minor fender bender but the fender and clips were replaced as well as the passenger-side headlight.
