Attention!
I bought the universal plastic hose connector from my local auto parts store. It worked great until I started driving hard in 100-degree weather here. In such hot conditions, the center plastic cylinder becomes detached from the "nipples" on either end. This may be because they glue the plastic connector together and the glue melts, or it may just be weak areas in the connector. If caught mine in time before it sprung a major leak. If you used a plastic connector, make sure you check it after you're engine's hot to see if it's holding together.

just make it one continuous hose like I did. A little bit of work, but at least you wont have to worry about all these problems and it's free
. Just my $.02

wouldnt it also work if u just a small enough hose to use instead of copper or plastic tubing? it would helluvalot better than a plastic or copper tubing wouldnt it but just need to b strong enough to fit nice and good between the 2 tubes.
This seriously needs to stop before someone get's coolant all over their engine bay or gets **** flowing inside their cooling system. I FIRMLY believe that the only way to do this is to just connect the nipples on the motor. Save yourself the potential problems and just do it right!
BTW Gearbox, how is your Typhoon? Did you get it yet? I just bought some things off of silvercivic including an eBay long-ram with an AEM filter. I'm only using the short ram tho since the long is uselss in our cars. But I defintely feel sumthin more up around 4000+ with minor drop under 1700. I don't know why people say cai's are useless on our cars... But let me know about your Typhoon system cause I read about it in my Super Street magazine and on a stock STi it generated 7.4 whp and 3.2 wtq.

i'm so sick of this. The plastic will melt? I sure hope not. There is no way I can reach down there. Is there a clamp or something that can go to hold both ends together in case something happens? It's only gotten to around 70 here and no problems. But coolant spilling would be very bad. I'll keep an eye out. This is gonna be much easier to work with once the typhoon gets here in about a week.
Why can't you reach down there? If we meet up somewhere and it's daylight I'll help you do it cause I don't want you having problems. All you need are some long needle nose plyers and either the stock clip or some small hose clamps.

ya I have long thin pliars, but I can't get a good grip. And my hand doesn't fit down there. Oh well. We'll see what happens. Maybe at the next meet in chicago you could help me out
Not worth risking it IMO. Plus it looks alot more professional with stock looking hoses on there instead of 2 hoses connected by a plastic piece, especially now that your getting a typhoon all that stuff is visible.
i tried looking for some hoses at my local auto store and found the hose size that i needed but they arent long enough. where did u guys get your hoses so that its just one single one from one end to the other. also did u guys have coolant coming out after u took off the hoses when u were replacing the current 2 hoses to one single one. im pretty sure there would b coolant comin out. what did u do to not make a mess.

Go to a carquest cause they got fuel line on a reel that you buy by the foot. I think i got like 14-15" on my car right now. I kinda made a mess, but inbetween attempts to put the hose on the back I held my finger on it. The front should only do a few drops if you let it cool down for a few hours.

ok don't know if you missed my post but I used the stock hose clips and the hose that is connected to the front inlet. It is long enough to reach and fits perfectly into the stock clips to hold it in place. When you pull the rear inlet hose off coolant will squirt out quite rapidly, so be prepared to slip the front inlet hose on there quick. Like someone else said you can put your finger(if you can fit)over it to slow it down.
You don't have to buy anything except some vacuum caps to cover the outlets on the TB.
short hose that was removed

I have those same caps on the tb inlets. However in your pic, I didn't have all the room you did. There were other hoses blocking it in.

maybe this pic will help you see better?
If the hose origionally connected to the TB it should be long enough cause the rear inlet is closer.
