hey, i got a traffic ticket (running a red light) back in june 18, 2004. I hired an attorney to represent me in court, while I was waiting for a notice of a court date, I got a SUBPOENA instead. It states I must got to court if not I can be fine and even jail time. ****, usually my other tickets get dismissed without me going to court, now I have to appear in court. The DATE is set on 9/21/04, so should I change my plead to no contest and pay the stupid f***ing ticket and go to traffic school, or duke it out in court (I have to be there personally). I need some advice.

talk to your lawyer. if you plea bargin maybe they will drop the charges with traffic school, or reduce it to a diffrent charge. i wouldnt fight it, the judge might be a **** and doing so might cause you more headaches and problems

Like vietfob said, did you actually run the light? If you have any doubts about taking it to trial in court, I would just take defensive driving, then it wont go on your record no matter what.

if you did it, and its obvious, I would just pay the fine get it over with and do what streetglower said take defensive driving so it doesn't go on your record
