Engine swap
Engine swap
Hello everyone, so I’m looking for some assistance. I have a em2 manual, I plan on engine swapping and I came across a d16a6 that makes about 420 wit a turbo. Need to know what I would need to make this happen or if it’ll be worth it. I don’t want 420hp I’d be fine with about 300-350 so I’d turn the boost down. Owner says it handled 35 psi like a champ on E85. Do I need different engine mounts, ecu, harness, etc just lookin for some guidance.

Re: Engine swap
d16 is the previous gen engine, some states it is a no-no, check local laws. engines older than the chassis are emission issues.

Re: Engine swap
yeah, starting from finding an ECU that works on D16 that still works with the new to 7th gen cars immobilizer, chassis, etc. Wiring will need to be all new. dizzy to coilpacks, etc, etc.
And then hitting a wall in licensing the car.
not worth doing a 6th gen engine into a newer chassis.
