Re: New dyno inside
About 4 months ago, I spun out one of my rod bearings and trashed the crank. It was my fault, I had a pretty bad oil leak for a few months and neglected it so running low on oil finally spun one of my rod bearings out. I pulled the main girdle off and then the rod bearing caps to check and see where it spun out and if I trashed the crank or not and sure enough, on the #1 rod, there was metal to metal contact so that rod and the crank were trashed. The block and the pistons and other 3 rods were completely unharmed. I attribute it to my own laziness.
Shortly after that happened, I swapped my head onto a bone stock lx block and had been running 12 psi (about 260-ish whp) with a rev limit at 7k rpm. About a month ago, I bumped the boost back up to about 15 psi (300-ish whp) and raised the rev limiter to about 7400. Its' running very nicely and smooth. I don't have any issues with it and I haven't had a single check engine light since I've installed and tuned kpro.
As far as new plans, there are some things that need to be done before I go for more power. I need to work on suspension badly, I'm still on lowering springs and stock struts, lol. And there's alot of other maintenance I need to do. I have a lightweight flywheel and new clutch that are ready to go in. I'm going to pick up another spare block and build it again. My fuel system is finally at a point where its been extremely consistant. I need to pick up oil and fuel pressure gauges. I need to finish the wiring for my oem honda wideband, I'd like to get some nice sparco seats, and I need a new radiator support welded in and I want to pick up a cf front lip and hood to match my cf trunk. Just lots of things that cost lots of money.
The engine is in a place where its running very well and is extremely reliable, so I figure that I should take advantage and take care of everything else I want/need to take care of before I go messing with it anymore. Once I get everything else done, I'll start looking into a gt bb turbo upgrade, new turbo manifold, bigger fmic and some other power adders to get it over 450 whp on boost alone with race fuel. Its a long term goal and isn't something I plan to have done in the next 2 months, just whenever I get around to it.

Re: New dyno inside
This just goes to shut up my friends with the new 08 Type S TL. Who think Civic cant get up there. If your ever in Toronto up in Canada loll PM me ill give them a little run around. Man I would honestly lovee to in about a year to turn the 04 DX into a beast of sort. I dont want 300 plus but i'd love to hit 300whp.
So your FUel Economoy improved waow thats great a bonus to get my dad to chip a little money in :P
If you drive it to its "potential" does it wear down the car alot faster and what things do you do to maintain it??

Re: New dyno inside
There's really no additional maintenance. I mean, **** breaks, you fix it. If you beat the hell out of it, stuff will break more frequently than not.
I attribute the economy to kpro and the tune, honestly. If you can run a factory honda wideband in closed loop, you're golden.
If you liked this, I have something really special coming very soon
